TAMPA, Fla. -- Terri Schiavo's relatives say they are hoping that her autopsy results can shed some light on what led to her collapse and severe brain damage 15 years ago.
Those results are scheduled to be made public tomorrow.(today)
Terri Schiavo, shown in this undated Schindler family photo taken shortly after she had a heart attack in 1990. The 41-year-old Pinellas County woman died March 31st, nearly two weeks after the feeding tube keeping her alive was removed by a court order sought by her husband Michael Schiavo.
Most doctors said she was in a persistent vegetative state, but her parents Bob and Mary Schindler desperately tried to keep her alive.
The cause of her collapse has never been definitely proven, but testimony in a 1992 civil trial indicated that she probably was suffering from an eating disorder that led to a severe chemical imbalance and a heart attack.
The Schindlers don't believe she had an eating disorder and have accused the husband of abusing his wife, a charge has denied

It would be nice if the autopsy would settle the various allegations made about her, but from what I've heard from people who know about these things and the forensics and pahtology experts on tv, the autopsy may not be as conclusive as some would like. In a way I feel for the medical examiner -- no matter what the autopsy reveals (or doesn't reveal), he's going to be taking a lot of heat. I'm reasonably sure most already include him in the Schiavo "conspiracy."
Where I live, most autopsy reports take forever to come out. Taking months for them to actually be prepared and released is not unusual.

Well, I can't speak for this medical examiner. I just know that it's a major bureaucracy where I live. I know of one case in my neck of the woods where a young man died in December, 2002 and his report wasn't released until May, 2003. Still, usually high profile cases take priority, so you would have thought the results would have come out sooner. But I'm willing to give this ME the benefit of the doubt and attribute the delay to backlog and/or perhaps a desire to be thorough and ensure its accuracy as much as possible.
Ummm...it's "Terri". It's kind of sad that she still has to suffer indignities even after being forcibly starved to death.

It will be a whitewash, don't expect anything useful.
We heard a voice. Multiple people told us it was Terri's voice on that tape. The courts weren't a bit inquisitive about that claim. Therefore, the autopsy can possibly damn Greer and his cronies, but they will not vindicate him. If the autopsy backs up the courts, then the voice tape discredits the autopsy, and their lack of concern for her true mental state will still damn them.
If the autopsy backs up the tape, then our case is that much stronger. It's a 'can't-win' for the death trolls, and a 'can't lose' for us. The best they can hope for is the cloud of confusion the the autopsy confirms they have psychic powers to know if someone is vegetative [despite the evidence of a person coherent enough to speak].
Added to Terri Bookmark Mountain.
Not necessarily a whitewash...just that the cause of certain things may be inconclusive. For example, the broken bones would show up, but the ME may not be able to tell for sure what caused them, or if he can pinpoint when the breaks would have occurred -- before she lapsed into the coma or PVS or if they occurred from being sedentary for so long afterwards.
It is only going to be a whitewash. I am not interested in hearing it.
I think they're in an impossible situation. The autopsy report can't ever satisfy people because it won't tell them what they really want to know.
Sorry, that should be "*couldn't* tell them what they really want to know."
"It is only going to be a whitewash."
The fix is in (and has been). Bottom line -- Michael Schiavo got away with murder -- and then cremated and disposed of the body. Sleezeball slime.

Well, guys, let's see what the report says. I think the conference is at 11:00 Eastern, in a few minutes.
