NeoComm hypocrites! The man came here with nothing but his biceps and has made a huge success of himself - the very model of what our country is all about. Which is why they chide him...

Pathetic, juvenile behavior, especially with some faculty joining in. Shameful is an understatement.

Do you realize that the county with the highest percentage of votes for Bush came from California?

That was Orange County in Southern California.

SHORT VERSION: Paradise has become a third world dump.

Liberalism and "diversity" will eventually destroy this nation.

We are no longer "one nation, under God". IMO

" At least 200 protesters gathered by the entrance to the college's outdoor stadium where the ceremony was held. They ridiculed Schwarzengger's education policies and plans to hold a special election later this year. Meanwhile, other protesters were scattered around the stadium and on nearby streets."

So in other words, a group of OUTSIDERS, such as union workers and professors, decided to interupt the student's graduation. Niiiiice.

You do realize not one of those (what, about 1200?) popular votes means a god-damned thing, right?

Bob Brinker, the radio financial analysist noted recently that Arnold Schwarzenegger is making a lot of enemies in Sacramento by implimenting fiscal belt-tightening measures, and since I respect Mr. Brinker's financial opinion, I'm thinking Arnold's doing the right thing.

I'm saddened by the demise of ordinary civility. It seems as if every occasion MUST be interrupted by a few who feel the need to make a 'statement.'

Dug-in faculty at almost every University have made sure that any Republican daring to speak will have to face this childishness. Ex-Governor Ventura was right about one thing, higher education is a money well, and no matter how much is flushed down it, it will never be enough, and will never be satisfied. Of course, this is the sort of thing that happens when the marketplace is eliminated from an employer/employee relationship, just ask Europe.

Indeed. Dangus, any ACLU or DU troll could be proud of posts such as your #26. Whether you meant it as sarcasm or not, taking the Lord's name in vain is not the kind of statement I'd have expected from a FReeper.

It is going to be an interesting 5 month campaign. The bad guys are really going to go all out on this one.

So what? It makes no difference overall, California is still one of the few states that could actually disapprove of a guy like Arnold and protest him like that. I'd put a few states in New England in that league, and that's it- and none of them would even come close to California, given that Massachusetts seems to have no problem with Mitt Romney, Connecticut has Jodi Rell, and New York has George Pataki.

Point of the matter is the California is the most liberal state in the US. If a guy like Arnold gets protested like this over there, the GOP will forever be screwed there.

Public employees should not be allowed to unionize

I have no problem with them unionizing. Their right to strike should be eliminated on the grounds that they provide an essential service to the public. Without the ability to strike they become a man holding a gun with no bullets.

Dont like public state-run schools? Send them to a Christian school.

Problem solved.

Sorry, but that pisshole New Jersey is far more liberal than California. We don't have a bunch of retarded monkeys running our Supreme Court.

Cheers and applause erupted midway through his remarks as a faculty member rose and held up a sign, referring to the cost of an upcoming special election, that read: "Honor your promise to our children ... $80 million buys a lot of books."

Could this faculty member have been referring to $80 million in teacher union member dues being spent to fight the issue? Naw, they support their dues going to that cause AND their dues don't go "for the children".

I'd agree, if it wasn't California you were comparing it to. I think this place could compete with New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts with its liberalism, but certainly not California. No way.

If our gas and energy prices ever reach California's ludicrous levels, though, I'll reconsider. Or if one of our cities ever wind up being a cesspool like San Francisco.

When Grey Davis (D) came into office, he inherited an $8,000,000,000.00 in the black government left to him by outgoing Gov. Pete Wilson (R). When Gov. Schwarzenegger came into office he inherited a government $8,000,000,000.00 in the hole and sliding. Now those same morons who put Davis in office are booing Gov. S for doing what is needed to get the state back on track. Liberalism is not an ideology, it's a vile disease.

I parked my black truck on Pico Blvd. (front of the college) between both groups of anti-Arnold protestors. Why not, I worked there 16 years in management and as much right as anyone there to state an opinion. The truck had a 4' X 8' sign that said MAN-HATING FEMINIST LIES HARM US ALL, and I was protesting the hypocrisy of the Liberal Science Dept. at SMC. At a recent faculty/student/staff meeting, one instructor from liberal science said she was concerned for the women of SMC, having Gov. S on campus. I immediately spoke up and said that I was concerned for the men of SMC, due to all the misandrist villification presented in women's studies indoctrinations (Man-Hating, male-bashing lies being used to brain-wash students). That's been going on for years and years. Those intolerant, hypocritical bigots in the liberal science dept. have done more harm to us all (men especially), than any alleged misbehavior Gov. S has been accused of. Each one of those liberal hypocrites in the liberal sciences should take a look in the mirror to see what a real sexist pig looks like.

Of course liberal passers by were all terribly shocked that anyone would have the nerve to point these facts out to them. This "finely educated" (sarcasm) crowd could be noticed most often replying to conservative assertions with a variety of profanity and unspeakable epithets.

I was sitting in my truck when one woman saw the big 4' X 8' sign, "flipped the bird," and shouted "F _ _ _ You." She hadn't taken the time to see that I was one of her former co-workers (now retired). I recognized her as an employee of SMC, opened my driver door and said, "Hi Terri, have a nice day." Yes, she was caught in the act of being an ugly liberal monster - nothing new for liberals from the Peoples Republic of Santa Monica, who espouse tolerance, diversity, and enlightenment, but are (as we see) hypocrites and bigots to the core.

One has to expect these kinds of reactions when going into this bastion of liberalism. Yes, this is what comes of exercising free speech and presenting opposing viewpoints in the Stalinist re-education camp known as Satan Monica, opps, Santa Monica.

From www.la.indymedia.org:

Video from SMC Commencement

SANTA MONCIA - Tuesday, June 14, 2005 The governor of California was basically booed off stage during a commencement address to graduating students at Santa Monica College today.

Boos, and chants continued non-stop through out the gov’s speech.
http://la.indymedia.org/images/Boos4Arnold.mov (6.37 Mb)
While we won the battle OUTSIDE...
...things do not appear to have gone very well INSIDE the stadium. :(
Perhaps the video by OUR guy (Jeffers Dodge) will show what actually happened more accurately.
We should have THAT video posted online -- soon.
