Tucson, Ariz. (AP) -- Humanitarian groups [a coalition of human rights groups and churches called No More Deaths] setting up emergency camps in the desert to try to save some of the illegal immigrants who die trying to cross the border said Thursday that Border Patrol surveillance will hinder their efforts.

Michael Nicley, who took over as interim chief of the Border Patrol's Tucson sector last August, said he has told officials that "there are no free zones in the Tucson sector. There is not an avenue of ingress where Border Patrol agents do not patrol."

He added that he had "no interest in keeping them from providing humanitarian aid. Quite the contrary."

Campos, an illegal alien: He became lost and spent the night alone without water or food. The next day ... he managed to find a road. Four Border Patrol vehicles passed before a fifth agent saw him, he said. The agent backed up his Jeep, looked at Campos, shook his head and drove on, claims the migrant. Sounds like a good time to erect a high voltage electrified fence with a sign in large letter and the applicable languages, "Go home or Die".
Of course we must not forget the humanitiarian side of us, we should put a jug of water and a protein bar 25 feet south of the fence
I'd suggest simply creating a mine field about a half-mile wide, on US soil, along the border.
Naturally, there would be a warning sign, written in Spanish, English, Arabic and Chinese. The sign could read:
"Danger, Mine Field. You do not, have never had, nor will ever have a right to cross this mine field. Lethal force is authorized beyond this mine field."
That should get the message across
I'm have no doubt that el Presidente Bush will soon call a press conference to criticize these vigilantes for interfering with the work of the Border Patrol.
