Sorry moderator, I meant to post to religion. Could you move it? Thanks.
Quit my subscription to Showtime over a year ago.
Catholic ping.
Isn't that petitioning "the pot" to probe "the kettle"?
Yeah, right, like CBS is a bastion of honesty & decency.
Why isn't the Catholic League addressing the claims of Penn & Teller instead. Those being that her "hospices" provided no medical care, and that those dying at the hospices were not allowed to see their loved ones? That she thought it was important for those who were in the hospice to suffer?
No, let's just try to ban the show instead.
This is extraordinary. How dreadful. Not insult is too low, apparently.
I did not see this "program" on Showtime. Anyone out there see it?
There is a web site that purports to debunk Mother Teresa and show that she was not as charitable as the media lets on.
I did not go into it so cannot give an opinion ( If I want your opinion I'll give it to you!).
If someone finds it it might shed some light on P&T's show.
To be fair, Penn and Teller did lampoon PETA earlier on Showtime.
SHOWTIME? You can't mean that paragon of reason that cancelled the excellent "Odyssey 5" to be replaced with the execrable, gay-recruiting series "Queer as Folk"?
Will Penn and Teller be doing a sequel on Islam anything soon. Scared to try that one I'll bet. What low lifes.
The most disturbing aspect of P&T's show isn't that they're out to expose some great wrong. It's that they are out to make light of something they don't understand. While they make light of Mother Teresa's accomplishments, do they acknowledge the greater evil of the caste system that created these poor and sick people? Do the bother to mention that the anti-Christian bias of the Indian government and society made it an even greater accomplishment that she was able to accomplish what she did? NO! Penn Gillette was more interested in goring an iconic figure for a cheap laugh and knee jerk acceptance of atheist who get pissed at the slightest positive acknowledgement of anyone who has even a hint of a religious affiliation. The fact is that Mother Teresa's missions were established with no fanfare and at the risk of her own personal safety. People like Penn can't get their tiny brains around that kind of personal scarifice, so they label it as either stupid or suspicious. If not for her religion, most of these nimrods would consider her a hero. But because she is (tee hee) a nun, her motives and practices are to be questioned and doubted. Penn should stick to card tricks.
Still waiting for Penn and Teller's Mohammada hammada' episode. That one will be a hoot.
Let us not forget that Nickelodian (another Viacom owned property) recently indoctirnated kids with the belief that the Texas war for Indiependence was caused by proslavery forces.
The best thing to do is to sugget every Catholic cancel Showtime. That'll really hurt
Considering how much Showtime has devoted itself to pro-homosexual programming, could they have come up with a better word in the headline than "probe"?
