You're right, never been to Florida. I've rusted up in the great Pacific Northwet.... It's nice that they are doing that , but that is a very small corner. And are all of these people actually finding this little onclave?
This is not happening all over the US, look at the whole Pacific coast. They come up to work then head back to Mexico and their families.
Cuban immigration peaked in the 1960s and early 1970s, when the middle and upper classes left in droves. Since then, flight out of Cuba has varied (Mariel in 1980 being the exception). The few Cubans who settle in this country go to South Florida. Even those who wind up in other parts of the country eventually wind up in Florida.
