Another beekeeper? Nice to see someone who knows something about bees. (Three colonies in Maine.)
It sounds like they did not close up the cavity very well. If there is any opening, the remains (it is hard to get rid of all the wax and honey) of the old colony will invite any swarm to set up shop there.
I didn't think of it immeditley, but on second thought, I think it would bee the most apiary-ate song for this.
Bees were never homeless before Bush became President. It's high time bees are given access to rent control and a living wage.
Yeah, I'm guilty as charged. I don't advertise who I am or what I do as a rule, but I am a sideline beekeeper. This year I am running about three dozen colonies and they manage to meet the needs of my market sales. How 'bout you?
