Car manufacturers need to make something that will alert drivers when a kid is left in a van or car. A jury ruled against a car manufacturer in a case like that, saying ventilation was inadequate, and that they should have provided some sort of failsafe. Ridiculous, if you ask me. Someone forgets and leaves a kid in a locked car, and it's the car manufacturer's fault?

"but van driver
Rancocas Foreman skipped the boy's stop, went home and parked and locked the van before leaving for his second job, authorities said."
Wonder how you pronounce that.

No, I am not going at this from "should have" or blaming the car manufacturer.
I am just saying it would be great if a car manufacturer invented a safety feature for kids, to remind drivers.

Looks like a good place for an aftermarket add on. Although I cannot imagine what type of sensor to use.
