Am I finally in before the zot?

A better question for our newbie is why didn't you post your reasons for thinking that the Dems will retake the congress? They are almost mathematically eliminated from taking the Senate and are likely to lose one or two seats there. Unitl there is redistricting in favor of the blue states they are unlikely to gain more that 2-3 seats in the House?

Please state your reasons. I won't call in the mods or the Viking Kitties because I would like to give you a chance to explain yourself.

The Democrats already have the Senate, but I doubt that they can get the somewhat more sanely-ruled House. Democrats, however, already have ordered Tom deLay to report to jail in Houston; he has refused thusfar to acquiesce in this commandment. Because of intensive partisan gerrymandering, the Republicans maintain a lock on the House until the 2012 election cycle.

But it is very possible that the Republicans will not retake the Senate in the 2006 election cycle. Even if Republicans do retake the Senate, the "liberal" wing of the RINO guild probably will weild most of the power in the caucus because of the hallowed byzantine distinguished Senatorial tradition whereby a liberal majority comprises only forty liberal distinguished Senators.

We [Republicans] need to win a net of FIVE Senators in 2006. Here's my best guess: some of West Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Washington, North Dakota, Nebraska, Florida, and New Mexico.
