The truth is that there is little to distinguish professional politicians of either party from one another.
Still, at this point, it is completely unacceptable to allow those in the Democrat party any quarter. Voting for a Dem is tantamount to suicide.
Voting for a Rep (in many cases) is more like cutting the puppy's tail off a little at a time so that it doesn't hurt as much. Difference is, it does buy time. I genuinely believe that people are wising up, and the dems are doomed, and the Reps will thus eventually recognize the true mood of the voters.
On the other hand, I have been wrong before when it comes to judging people. Likely I shall be so again.

I heard L. Graham state that if the Rats screwed them on the famous "compromise" then he would go for the nuke option. Less than a week later the Rats go,"na, na, had my fingers crossed". We'll see if Graham is just a BS artist or really has a set? If any 2 of the 7 Dwarf Rinos change their minds on the compromise then the Rats will be eating crow or better yet have to listen to Kerry talk about Cambodia.
