TEHRAN, June 1 (MNA) - Al-Qaeda terrorist leader in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has received treatment at a hospital in the Jordanian capital Amman amid tight security by Jordanian intelligence forces and under the supervision of the Jordanian King Abdullah II, the U.S.-based daily Arab Times reported on Wednesday.

There are reliable news in Jordan that al-Zarqawi was transferred to the Al-Hussein clinic in Oman where he received treatment in a section guarded by security forces, the Arabic-language daily claimed.

The news that al-Zarqawi has taken shelter in Jordan is quite likely since the Jordanian intelligence agency has a precedent of giving service to elements convicted of terrorism, informed sources in Jordan have announced.

What does this mean for our relationship with Jordan?

Hmmm. Al-Zarqawi is a wanted man in Jordan and Jordan is generally a more reliable ally than any other Arab nation.

This sounds sketchy, especially since the dateline says this item is from tehran - which would be a much more likely site than Amman for Al-Zarqawi to get sympathetic treatment.

Jordan IS the Palestinian homeland.

They don't need another state.

The only one that I would begin to bestow the title "friend" upon is Qatar.

My thoughts exactly.

Ah yes, Jordan...a moderate Arab nation.

I find nothing moderate in a country that'd allow (knowingly or unknowingly) Zarqawi refuge for medical attention.

The King's father was supposed to be our ally, too, but every time there was a crisis he always failed us. Even during the first Gulf War, Jordan was almost the only Arab state to openly support Saddam. They are not our friends.

Ok, now all those people who bought into this thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1412870/posts need to re-think your zeal.

This story is far more likely to be true than the Iran story.
Time to lean on Abdula hard to find out if this is true and demand the heads of those responsible if so.

Exactly. FUBAR! Why are they doing this? Why are we not bombing the crap out of the area? Why isn't there any severe diplomatic pressure on that government? What ever happen to "We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them." I remember President Bush saying this on 09-11-01 in his address to the nation. When will we begin to really fight this war? Or are we just going to putz around another three years then walk away when the new administration comes? All this does is continue to reinforce the ones who want to destroy us. The only way you stop a terrorist nuke from going off in the US is to ensure that the ones who would like to do it have a good perception that if they did everything and everybody they value would be destroyed. Maybe this is a B.S. report to bust up any cooperation between us and the Arab states but if true this country needs to take a step back and really look at what's going on.

One more attempt to disrupt arab relations by a US based Islamakazi Presstitute(enemy in the wire using the wire) with disinformation IMO. Too late I despise and distrust all of islam and anything associated with it already.

I want to see it become the cult of pieces it is vs it's claim of a religion of peace.

Doom on em all.........
