Indonesian Christians Bury Their Dead After Market Bombing

By Chris Brummitt

Published: May 29, 2005

TENTENA, Indonesia (AP) - Tearful mourners on Sunday began burying the victims of twin bombings that killed at least 20 people in a crowded marketplace in a Christian-dominated town - the deadliest terror attacks in Indonesia since the 2002 Bali bombings that killed hundreds. Saturday's attacks came just days after Washington issued a fresh terror warning in Indonesia and closed its diplomatic offices across the nation. The blasts, in Christian-dominated Tentana on Sulawesi Island, were just 15 minutes apart.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the bombings, but suspicion has fallen on Islamic militants responsible for a series of attacks on Christians in Sulawesi Island since a peace deal in 2002 ended a bloody conflict that killed as many as 1,000 people.

Abu Bakar Bashir

As I thought was your meaning. Problem is, they never could link the SOB up to the Bali bombings in a causative way. What the Indoneian government is doing with Bashyr is keeping him in jail any way they can until the US allows them to get the evidence they need from the only person on the face of the earth who can provide it - Ridwan Isamuddin, a.k.a. Hambali.

We have our reasons for not allowing the Indonesians access to Hambali, but we need to realize that by doing so we are keeping the Indonesians from being able to present the evidence they need in court.

My suspicion is that Hambali's intelligence value will decline over time, ant a point will come when we allow the Indonesians access, and they will get what they need to put Bashyr away forever. But rest assured, Bashyr will NEVER get out of jail. No way.

Yes, I had forgotten about Fred Burks. Another POS that made it harder for the Indonesians to deal properly with Bashyr.

So, we Americans alow somebody like Fred Burks to testify without being discredited and withhold Hambali's testimony and information, OK. But then I just can't fathom why or how the Indonesians are going to take the blame when they can't make the charges stick in court.

We'll see. I certain that the chances of that happening are nil, regardless of what others may think.

This was one of those cases that was decided before it even got to the court.

The trial was a "dog and pony show" for the West.

Sen. John McLame should begin an inquiry into the intentional killing of Christians by Muslims in this and every country (if he had any integrity - but since he does not he goes out for the MSM's praise of anyone who is incensed over Muslim "abuse"./)
