Excellent new pro-life web site for the average American (abortion)

The Abort73.com ApproachWith so many pro-life organizations already in existence and working hard to eliminate the injustice of abortion, it is fair to wonder, "Why do we need another?" There are hundreds, if not thousands, of pro-life websites online. Why Abort73? These, we believe, are our distinctives.
1. AIM
Simply put, we are out to educate young people about the injustice of abortion through a comprehensive and engaging website. The world wide web is a huge equalizer in the realm of information distribution, but it has never been fully tapped in the fight against abortion. We're not using our website to educate people about an organization, a project, or an event. We're focusing squarely on abortion itself, presenting the facts point by point, utilizing the unique format of the internet, believing that a well structured website can be the single most effective way to educate a huge cross section of young people about abortion.

2. CONTENT
Our website is a mixture of dynamic content and solid textual support. It is structured to be as engaging for the junior higher as it is for the collegian, as insightful for the novice as it is for the well-informed. The backbone of Abort73 is a thorough, point-by-point examination of all the pertinent evidence regarding abortion, so that students can examine at great depth or browse the main arguments without having to go from website to website.
3. DESIGN
For better or worse, we are a culture that judges books by the cover. Credibility is given or withheld based on "the look", and this is especially true for young people (the ones we're out to reach). We've gone to great lengths to create a website that will not be written off for shoddy design. No matter how good the information, an ugly or boring website guarantees that very few people will ever find it.

4. ORGANIZATION
Lack of organization, like bad design, renders countless websites all but useless. If you can't find what you're looking for, or if you don't know where to go, what's the use? Abort73 offers nearly 200 pages of content, carefully organized into manageable sections with clear direction for getting through or going deeper. Whether someone is brand new to the abortion debate or whether they're looking for something very specific, we have the infrastructure to help them on their way.
5. DOCUMENTATION
It's very frustrating, in any line of research, to find facts, quotes, or statistics that are presented without any indication of where they came from, or any way to verify their authenticity. Such frustration has often been ours when researching abortion. While authenticating and properly sourcing can be tedious work, such provision is crucial in further establishing legitimacy and authority in the abortion debate. We've done our best to source everything we cite, and where possible, we link to it.
6. INVOLVEMENT
We've produced a line of merchandise in support of the Abort73 website, all designed to give students an opportunity to participate in introducing their friends and peers to the reality of abortion (by helping get them to this website). Young people have the passion, energy and desire to make a difference in the world. They just need an opportunity that fits their means. Our approach doesn't require them to leave their life or school behind. Rather, we're inviting them to advertise our website right where they're at (instead of advertising for GAP or Abercrombie). Students may not have the money to donate, or the schedule to volunteer, but with the right opportunity, they can play a significant role in marketing this website.
7. PERSPECTIVE
Loxafamosity Ministries is a broadly pro-life organization. We say broadly because we recognize that there are other injustices that demand steady and focused Christian attention. Abortion is just one issue and is symptomatic of the greater problem of sin. Underneath everything we do, we offer the gospel. Union with Jesus Christ through faith is the only and ultimate hope for humanity. Nevertheless, abortion is massive and real and requires Wilberforce like Christians who will love their unborn neighbors enough to pour out their lives in defense of them. We're not aiming at a more moral America (as if mere morality could solve our problems). We're aiming at the application of Proverbs 24. "Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter." God is absolutely sovereign, and could end abortion today with a thought, if He so chose. But with rare exceptions, God is pleased to work through human means, fragile and sinful though we be. Abort73 is our effort to prepare the horse for the battle, while the coming victory, belongs wholly to the Lord (Prov. 21:31)

About a year ago Loxafamosity had contected me with a solicitation for support for this site. Cyberground had just been broken at that time. I decided to check it today, with modest expectations. Instead, I was blown away with the dynamic content, engagement, depth, and professionalism of this site - site quality normally restricted to the upper echalons which include billion dollar corporations.
This site needs to get exposure. Please click on the link. This is truly exciting, and has the potential to educate millions in an engaging and dynamic way.

I agree. It seems that there are simply too many "pro-choice/pro-abortion" web sites out there.

Did you visit the site? I've never seen anything like it on the pro-life side. Most pro-lifers in my experience lack the resources and technical expertise to put something like this together. This site is amazing - be sure to watch the lead-in movie stream!

Thank you for posting this thread and letting me know about this Web site. I found
this video. Neither my husband or I wish to watch it, but it will be a very useful link to send to pro-aborts.
My husband and I would like to find an on-line video of the moment when egg and sperm unite - actual conception, creation of a new and unique human being. He saw such a video years ago, perhaps on PBS, and described a scene in which "the whole thing kind of jumped, it kind of expanded and contracted in a sudden spasm" at the very moment of conception. He said it glowed.
Does this site, or any pro-life site, have such a video clip?

The pictures on that section of their site are also disturbing, but the reader is soundly warned before they appear. I did watch "The Silent Scream" a couple years ago - seeing the ultrasound image of the little "blob of tissue" trying to swim away, pieces of it coming off into the suction tip, and finally it just stops moving and its remainder sucked out. That was enough, and it didn't even show any blood.

He said it glowed. Doctor Beverly might want to correct me here, but the glow is due to the light for filming reflecting off of the 'suddenly opaque' outer membrane of the ovum transformed into the 'zona pellucida' once a sperm has burrowed in. The ovum has a full 46 chromosome complement and sheds half when conception process is occurring, with the 23 sent to an 'isolation' at the perimeter (called the polar body) then expelled when the 23 from the sperm are joined to the 23 presented of the ovum.

Spread the word!
I'm frankly shocked that neither you nor CP knew about this before. Michael Spielman is from Center for BioEthical Reform, but spun this off on his own. Unlike CBER, this site doesn't shove the images "in your face", so to speak, but doesn't avoid them either. It's clearly targeted to the deceived masses, a junior high to adult audience which has spent little time thinking on abortion.

I'm shocked too! But VERY happy it's here. A much needed resource for the kids of today.
Lex, do you know how long they've been up? Surely it will get promoted by the others. They should advertise in LifeNews.com
Here's a site all should know about
http://www.standupgirl.com
It's similar but more geared towards the female. It is another great resource. I promote it on my CPC websites. .30Carbine,
http://www.standupgirl.com might have the on-line video of the moment when egg and sperm unite? They have a large video selection.

Stand up girl is also well done. Liked the 4-part into. It indeed appears targeted to pregnant girls and women, sort of like Pregnancy Choices and other crisis pregnancy groups.
To answer your question, abort73.com has had something on it for a year, but a year ago it was very obviously under construction and quite different from what's there now. So it's been there for just a few months.
