TIM ROBBINS ON THE MEDIA
MSNBC HARDBALL? | 05/25/05 | FGS

Posted on 05/25/2005 8:18:16 PM PDT by ForGod'sSake

I was channel surfing when I happened to catch Prissy Matthews interviewing Tim Robbins actor/activist(sic)(scraggly beard and all).

The discussion moved to Hollyweird generally, and Prissy asked Robbins about the monolithic liberalism of Hollyweird(the question from Prissy a bit of a shocker in itself).

Paraphrased:

Tim: I don't see Hollyweird as monolithic in its politics, and there is essentially a full spectrum of political beliefs there.

Prissy: Then why is it that everyone we see and hear from Hollyweird appears to be liberal?

Tim: Must be the media.

What, I says to myself?!?! Here's this bleedin' heart from Hollyweird basically saying the media has/is creating what appears to be an industry/cultural political monolith in tinseltown(say it ain't so).

Holy cow! I held my breath waiting for followup.

Still waiting...

Prissy never blinked an eye as he moved on to more important things, whatever they were. I was still waiting for the media comment followup and never heard another word.

Now, media bias is nothing new to us around here, but this coming from a bleedin' heart in such a casual manner left me flabbergasted. Still am.

I didn't see it, with the sound up. Tim Robbins is divorced from reality.

Tim should stick to acting and keep his pie hole shut the rest of the time.

The actor that played "Gimli" (and two Indiana Jones movies) gets it. So there is a diversity in hollywood. It is just unbalanced.

----Tim: I don't see Hollyweird as monolithic in its politics, and there is essentially a full spectrum of political beliefs there.----

That's true.

It's just that if you want to actually get work in Hollywood, and are even slightly to the right of an asshole like Tim Robbins, you'd best keep your "full spectrum" to yourself.

Right, Tim?

I was thinking how it had been a while since we heard his bile being spewed. It was a nice little break.

Kurt Russell is a conservative. And Robbins is a good writer so he's not what you would call stupid regardless of politics.

I've noticed that most, if not all, of the actors and actresses who voice a conservative opinion wait until AFTER they have arrived.

Even a liberal actress, who was on NYPD Blue, admitted to a studio backlash for being mislabled a conservative.

Some of Hollyweird call themselves "liberal", others, "progressive", and still others, "moderate". But the rub - they all voted for Kerry.

"......Don't give a rats pituney for them. He could choke on his own vomit for all I care. Any time they speak without a script written for them they demonstrate just how utterly stupid they are.

Don't hold back, Max. Tell us how you really feel.

Did Timmy use his phony, down-nose-looking accent?

He calls himself libertarian. He was on Oreilly and said he supported the Patriot Act.

At times, he reminds me of John Kerry, when he speaks.

Like Kerry, he clearly has a high opinion of himself.

Tim Robbins is divorced from reality.

Actually, I think Reality was the one who filed the paperwork.

TR doesn't have two brain cells to rub together. And the one he does have is very tenuously connected to his mouth.

I can't imagine [voluntarily] subjecting myself to a dose of him and Matthews at the same time.

Yawn...it's the same old crappola they regurgitate everytime one of them opens a mouth. I know what crap smells like, I don't have to stick my nose into it as a reminder.
