I'm as much a technophile as anyone, but I have EXTREMELY strong reservations about this kind of thing. It appears to me that a subset of us geeks is setting up the technology infractructure for a type of tyrrany of government control that has never before been seen (or even imagined) in history. MAYBE the freedom-enhancing effects of "net-icization" are enough to offset same, but I have my doubts.
