Different standards will be applied to both women. Hil, who has a creep for a husband, will get a pass and Ms. Pirro will be pilloried by the press.

Hillary is the Teflon candidate, nothing sticks to her. I'm afraid of her and the unconditional acceptance she has with a very large portion of the electorate. I think she'll get a lot of votes unless something really bad comes us. She and Bubba can wiggle out of anything.

Well then, I'm sorry for calling your friend a skank.

Don't appologize Clarissa, just because some one is another person's friend doesn't mean that friend isn't a skank. If you feel she is a skank them by all means call her one. That is what FR is about, of course M. Thatcher thinks you shouldn't have the right to free speech altho she exercises hers by insulting you, which is her right. You, however, don't have to appologize if you feel this woman is really a skank. I don't know either way but think you have the right to your opinion.

From one of those news links above:

"With each embarrassing revelation, Jeanine's supporters have circled the wagons. They say she wouldn't be subjected to such scrutiny if she were a man whose wife had the same legal difficulties. "Because of the alleged sins of her husband," says Geraldo Rivera, on whose show she frequently appears,"one of the most effective, intelligent, determined, and compassionate prosecutors in the country is being mugged by the media. Jeanine Pirro deserves better. She's a true and sincere public servant." "

"Meanwhile, in the whispering outback of New York politics, no one is quite sure what Servant Pirro wants -- or when she plans to go for it. While her oratory packs the punch of a centrist stump speech, railing against the harsh Rockefeller drug laws and urging her listeners to support a hate-crimes bill, she claims a fierce loyalty to her current job. "No, I'm not running for anything," she laughs, waving off a Smithie who inquired. Later, Pirro tells me: "I've always wanted to be in this job and do this work. And I'm not done." "

"Republican moderates, like state senator Nicholas Spano, head of the Republican Party in Westchester, love that talk. With a profile of tough prosecutor, sensitive to domestic violence, pro-choice, pro-Brady Bill, Pirro has the markings "of a real winner," says Spano. "I think she's destined for statewide office. But a lot of water has to go under the bridge between now and then." If Pirro does run for higher office, and if she can shake the Gerry syndrome, as political consultant Norman Adler puts it, the field is hers. "There are very few Republican woman stars, and fewer in New York," he says. Importantly, Pirro is well regarded by conservative Democrats; she fights for women's and children's rights -- and she hasn't used the death penalty. All things considered," says Adler, "Jeanine looks pretty damn good."

Ugh.

She could be Pelosi's sister from the looks of her.

She is always mugging for the cameras and is married to a criminal. She strikes me as an opportunist.

So is Hillary Clinton.

Didn't know anything about all that stuff with her husband. She must be nuts if she thinks she has any chance at a political career.

Oh really? How did Hillary Clinton become a U. S. Senator in New York?!

But Al's problems don't all involve money and influence. There is also sex and infidelity.

She sounds like the PERFECT candidate to run against Hillary. What could the OLD MEDIA say about her that Hillary Clinton's "husband" hasn't done?!!!

I met her when I was in NY for the convention, at an Arab American event (she's of Lebanese extraction; her husband is Italian).

She was very friendly; I was impressed with her. Is she ambitious and ego driven? Duh... what politician isn't?

I like her!

Jeanine tells the Daily News when questioned about hubby Al's problems:

"I'm not here to talk about my husband!" she shouted, slapping her desk. "I'm my own person! No one - defense attorneys, nobody in the media, nobody in organized crime - are going to get me out of this job by totally spurious ridiculous charges that are rebutted by the truth...."

"I'm not here to talk about Al!" she shouted. "If I had no record, I would understand your questions. But my record is I go for the jugular in every organized crime investigation I pursue. The fact is they despise me.

"When I go home, I'm not the DA. I talk to my son about his day, I talk to my daughter about her day. I'm a wife and a mother. I'm not a prosecutor at home. I don't talk about my day because nobody's interested. I might do something frivolous, like bead."

Jeanine Pirro, who is up for re-election this fall and is thought to be entertaining a possible run for state attorney general next year, shrugged off the allegations.

"These criminals are on trial because of the joint efforts of my office, the U.S. attorney's office and the FBI," she said. "Anyone who believed Zehy Jereis could influence this case got scammed."

Sen. Clinton's approval rating among New York voters approaches 70 percent in recent polls.

Snort. What polls? And they left a little something out: Namely the polling that shows if Hillie doesn't swear she'll serve out her term, she can kiss re-election to the Senate goodbye.

She's one tough cookie. I always liked her. I think she will give Hillary a run for her money. Alot of NYers like her too which may give her a bit of a boost.

Hillary will get reelected. She will likely give whoever the GOP runs against her a bigger a-s kicking than she gave to Loozio.
