Driver allowed to keep Christian vanity plate

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF AND NEWS SERVICES

OLYMPIA -- Vanity may be a sin, but a Christian message on vanity license plates is OK with the state of Washington.

The Department of Licensing yesterday dismissed a complaint against a vanity plate imprinted with "JOHN316."

No, vanity is:

DMIMGUD or

2HT4U or

WBMSTR or some such.

Quoting the Bible doesn't seem like vanity at all!

All license plates that aren't in the six- or seven-digit alphanumeric sequence determined by your state are, by definition, vanity plates.

Here's how you tell . . . if you got to pick what your plate says, you have vanity plates.

Even if they say "I LV GOD" or "BIBLE," they're considered "vanity plates."

I know I know. It just doesn't seem to fit the literal definition of a 'vanity' plate to have JOHN316. 'Personalized' plate would be better.

Someone complained. Someone desperately needs to get a life, holy wacko Batman. At least he doesn`t have the obnoxious licence plates of John Kerry "PURPLEHEART3".

I know a preacher who had one of those "Choose Life" plates personalized with the letters 'ETERNAL'.

Good win -- but he may regret it when the queers start keying his car.

"Vanity" is three syllables and six letters. "Personalized" is four syllables, 12 letters, and an abomination of back-formation.

I like how someone complains about that but not this obnoxious fraud...

More Kerry Car Troubles: 'Purple Heart 3' Vanity Plate, Outsourced SUV

Unlike most combat vets, Sen. John Kerry has never been shy over bragging about his wartime experience. But even we were surprised to hear that his 1985 Dodge is plastered with vanity plates that read "Purple Heart 3."

The Boston Herald's Howie Carr has done some research into the Kerry family's fleet of vehicles and has turned up some interesting details.

Apart from the Purple Heart plates, Carr has discovered that Kerry's wife, Teresa, is hiding another family SUV at their estate on Nantucket, in addition to the Chevy Surburban the Heinz Kerrys keep at their Idaho mansion.

And for this one, the would-be first family decided to outsource.

The plates on the British-made 1997 Land Rover Defender driven by the woman who wants to be America's next first lady read MOZMBQ - a reminder of the country Heinz Kerry recently lamented she wished she'd never left.

"I can't believe my family left Africa and came to this country," she griped to the New York Post's Cindy Adams two weeks ago. "I can't believe I ever even married an American."

The plates on Teresa's 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee read HZ 57, a reference to the company whose management has spent the last few months sending out letters to the media insisting it has nothing to do with her.

And it turns out there's another outsourced car in the Kerry family's vehicular portfolio. The stepson of the Democrats' man-of-the-people candidate tools around in a nifty 2002 Porsche 911.

'Personalized' plate would be better.

That is what they are actually referred to by our state.

Wow, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer even managed to slip in the referenced New Testament verse into its five-paragraph story. I wonder if any subscriptions will be canceled.

Why not settle for a standard issue license plate and paint the whole text in the bach of your vehicle? John 3.16: God so loved the world....we all know it, now show it to those that don't. Quite a normal thing to see on a Philippine taxi. That's one thing we can learn from them.
