This marriage may not be illegal but it's still sinful, considering that Ms Letourneau was married when she met the boy and abandoned her husband and children for him.

No longer illegal, yes. No longer sinful? For a rapist to continue to manipulate and prey upon a victim is certainly no path to Heaven.
