Actually, I don't know the color of her hair; we're not at all close. But she's older than 40, probably closer to 60. Her name is Dorothy Something-or-other. She and her husband are geologists and they had hired a plane for the day to snap photos and check on changes. Very probably, that is the one y'all saw.

I'm sure it is... she told quite a story.

My mom also chartered a little plane in the year(?)after and we flew down to see it. The sight that always amazes me most were the miles of toothpick forest in the blast zone. An unbelieveable amount of force.

I took these pictures just this year from the window of an airliner. All was overcast, but the mountain poked through and was steaming that day.
