McCain backs off migrant claim

"If we went down to the Camelback Inn today in Phoenix and arrested everyone who’s working there illegally, the place would probably shut down," McCain was quoted as saying in The Hill, a nonpartisan newspaper covering politics in the nation’s capitol.

We should put McCain's suggestion to the test. Where are those INS enforcers?

If what McCain says is true, then the Camelback Inn is obviously a criminal enterprise and should be closed.

McCain is a moron.

I recall during the Election of 2000 when he asked Republicans to join his team of Democrats. He said, "Join Us, Join Us."

Put a lid on it, it reeks.

So McCain the elitist cites this as a reason to let the illegal aliens stay! So McCain and his elitist friends don't have to pay more when they stay at places like this. Or make less profit for the places they own.

Shudder to think that actual American citizens could have jobs there. Why, the horror!

This is as deep as McCains thinking goes on this topic. He has absolutely no concern for Americans. Just his business buddies and their profits.

McCain is a moron.

And reportedly one of the two front-runners for our party's nomination in 2008. And the press likes him.

Scary isnt it!

Surely you jest. When the illegal aliens had a rally on Capitol Hill a couple of weeks ago demanding amnesty, there wasn't one law enforcement body in sight, let alone someone from ICE. They advertised that they were going to be there, showed up for the (actually pretty lame, with ANSWER selling Marxist tracts and books about Che) protest, and no one thought a little raid from the Migra would be in order. The tourists were dumbfounded.

I'm guessing the Camelback Inn management didn't contribute their fare share to McCain's re-election kitty.

"Scary isnt it!"

I doubt he will make it. He isn't pretty and I think that's a factor. : D

I wonder if McCain can be charged as an accessory to the crime. He obviously knew it was happening and failed to report it; perhaps even encouraged it.

Ya know, it sounds more and more like McCain might have illegal help himself. His pointing to Camelback Inn sounds like that ill concieved excuse, "Well, everybody is doing it!"

And, how many illegals does McCain's family beer distribution empire have on the payroll??>

If I remember right, the Camelback Inn is a pretty fancy place. Why can't they hire Americans?

Did anyone notice the trailers for the new TV movie that's being advertised about McCain the Vietnam hero, residing at the Hanoi Hilton for many years? I doubt that many Arizona citizens think of him as a hero anymore. I think the movie is supposed to be a push for his possible presidential race.

If he runs he might lose his own state because of his love for illegal immigration.

Better idea, violate a federal crime = asset seizure. How long would it take if the Camelback Inn was seized for the rest of the employers to get the message?

Pour encourager les autres!

Fox's 'apology' to the US over the black workers remark was aimed at black voters in LA. Last election, the black vote went to Hahn, the white candidate. This time, blacks voted for the Hispanic...ooops, Latino candidate. NPR discussed the election this am and said Hahn had been an inept campaigner, didn't put out a positive ad about himself. LA is gone. They'll pander to the Mexican/Latino vote. Goodbye Protestant work ethic, US culture, mores, English, productivity, etc.. They'll vote themselves into a mini Mexico or worse.
