Man sentenced after trying to rob bank with a vacuum attachment

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- Michael Shewman won't be cleaning up with his vacuum cleaner.
He's been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pretending that a vacuum cleaner attachment was a gun.
Authorities say Shewman admits to robbing a Village Pantry and Mutual Federal Savings Bank in Muncie, Indiana, last July.
He's pleaded guilty to two counts of armed robbery, the weapon being the vacuum cleaner nozzle.

Letsee. Most banks are staffed by women...middle aged women. Most middle aged women who are at the socioeconomic level or bank teller have a deep and solid acquaintance with vacuums.

Well what would happen if someone took a real shotgun and enclosed it in a vacuum tool (the wand forinstance) so it wouldn't be obvious being carried (oh, it's just a vacuum wand, nothing to worry about) - and in the bank, if one of those women laughed - ka-boom - place a round over her head ... you think?

Well, at least this guy is a point or two up the Darwin scale than the guy some time back who got a little amorous with his vacuum only to painfully discover that it had a dust chopper just inside the hose... Ouch!!!
