I know---and in 2006, it would be a good chance, to "change" because of "health" reasons---because, after all, there really ISN'T a solid front running CONSERVATIVE candidate out there right now...
I heard Boxer say the funniest thing the other day---she was being inteviewed about the judicial nominees situation and she mentioned that the only reason that Frist is doing this is because of his future political aspirations---then she invoked Bob Dole's name and said that at least Bob Dole had the "integrity" to step down when he was running for President, instead of "using" his postition to campaign....
Boy, does SHE have a short, teeny-tiny, memory, doesn't she!!! LOL
I think for Bush to bring someone else in as VP would be very transparent and could backfire, unless Cheney's health problems were absolutely undeniable. But even if that happened, the pressure would be for Bush to bring in a "seasoned veteran" with no future aspiration, otherwise there would just be another 'Rat filibuster in the senate. In 1973, there was a lot of talk about Nixon naming Reagan to replace Agnew, but the 'Rats made it clear they wouldn't go for it. Also, there would be a lot of infighting among the GOP about Bush "playing favorites," which second term presidents traditionally don't do.
"Bob Dole's name and said that at least Bob Dole had the "integrity" to step down when he was running for President, instead of "using" his postition to campaign..."
John Kerry NEVER stepped down.......
Just wait, he will be a laughing stock before/during the Dem primaries. This guy's career is so over, he just doesn't even understand yet...the Hitlery propaganda machine will torpedo him.
