I had to laugh. I visited the DUmmies last week and caught them in the middle of debating the admin's "plea for civility" amongst them. They couldn't even get through that conversation without telling each other to shut the heck up.
Manners and civility are long gone from the party that blew it by letting the immaturity of the leftists govern it.

I only have one small addition to your statement.
You said, "We have elections to determine the direction this country will take."
It seems to me that the direction was decided a little over 200 years ago with the adoption of the Constitution. Until recently, the only quibble was how to go in that direction. Lately, however, the liberals have been fighting tooth and nail to take us in a different direction, one confirmed by history to be wrong. Now the elections are to try to keep us going in the direction that we know always works, or to take a sharp left turn to our downfall.

Your ZOT is showing.

Current, real-life example: To see how hate and ignorance have poisoned political debate at the lowest levels of society, check out the reaction of the crew at FreeRepublic.com to news that Rep. Henry Waxman is accusing the Bush administration based on its admitted record of inaccuracy of trying to conceal the true number of terrorist incidents
What is it with liberals and run on sentences?

I agree. It's hard for them to break a behavioral lack of "manners and civility" which has gone on for decades. There may have been a point in time when this could have been stopped. But too many people would have had to agree to be mature and sincere. And Reid is a fantastic example of why this was, and is, still not possible.

"whose views were well outside reasonable expectations of impartiality, fairness and moderation;"
I get a kick out of the liberals thinking they are the only ones without impartiality and with fairness and moderation, considering they think teaching homosexual sex acts to 5 year olds is "impartiality", who think banning religion is "fairness", and banning guns based on false beliefs is "moderation".
Liberals are the dumbest creatures on Earth. Ever.
