THE WORLD SPINNING FROM A DEPOPULATION CRISIS
Real Women of Canada ^

"Europe has been experiencing terrible problems because of the decline in its birth rates. Never have birth and fertility rates fallen so low for so long, in so many places, as they have in Europe, which has seen 45 consecutive years of fertility decline. As a result, the European Union expects to suffer a net loss of 70 million people by 2050."

Besides the obvious (birth control/abortion) isn't it also true that sperm counts in men have plummetted in western societies? Perhaps a due to chemical exposure?

But we needn't worry. There are so many Mexicans and Central Americans and, of course, Citizens of the Islamic countries to help us.

Or so I'm told....by the Powers-That-Be.

Are they worried about a population decline or are they worried that not enough people are being born to sustain the socialist machinery?

Cannot imagine how this could be true. It's just that people in Western society have become so self-centered ("it's all about me") since the 60s that they might see children - a blessing from God - as an annoyance. Sad and sick.

They might want to worry about all those fabulous, wonderful pieces of art throughout Europe's museums which will become firewood for all those folks of an Islamic bent who see idolatrous images everywhere.

Pity.

Socilists, fascists, the elite of every stripe have always and forever believed that THEY will, of course, overcome any difficulties by retreating behind their money, their walls and their machinations.

It didn't work for King Louis and Marie Antoinette. It didn't work for Napoleon. It didn't work for Czar Nickie. It won't work for the bankers nor for the oilgarchs..

That may be part of it. For me, the choice not to have children was really a matter of not trusting women - given the state of marriage/divorce et al.

Now that's really sad, but a reality nonetheless.

The only reason why de-population is a crisis is because the current generations have set up governments that depend on an increasing amount of workers to fund the retirement and health care of the previous 2 generations. In societies where people paid their own way through life, de-popualtion would not be a big deal.

And an obvious aging or the remaining population.

It might even be considered a boon.

"Must be why they import all those Muslims who don't abort their children.. The URPeans answer to depopulation!.. BECOME A MUSLIM COUNTRY..."

We haven't got much room to talk. Not only are we embracing serpents Muslims from all over the world, but we're allowing every mongrel from south of the border who can outrun the border patrol to come in, get benefits they're not entitiled to, take jobs away from Americans and take crime to a new level. None of these people have abortions either. Seems our oh, so intelligent American citizens, particularly those of European descent, are the only ones selectively breeding ourselves into irrelevance.

It should please the enviro-whackos. Less people mean less cows/pigs/chicken eaten; less electricity used; less environment spoiled, right?

I agree with Dennis R. And altho' there are other factors such as urbanization, the decline of Christianity in Europe has been accompanied not only by a self-centered materialism but a loss of hope for the future. Christianity is a religion of hope which views life (and children) as a blessing.

I, for one, know exactly what to do about this. /humor

Imagine the uproar *I can't wait!!* when some innocent researcher who's done his homework says, "gee, all the evidence points to abortion being the main cause."

It will happen.
