CLEARANCE BONANZA 47,000 New York Yankees Baseball Caps--Bid Now on EBay!!!!
E-Bay ^ | 5/5/05 | Misterrob

Posted on 05/05/2005 8:38:32 PM PDT by misterrob

For auction are 47,000 brand new New York Yankees baseball caps just like this one.

They are all sealed in the original cartons. Two guys from UPS dropped these off yesterday. I told them I thought they had the wrong place, but they didn’t seem to be concerned about it.

Thought about giving these to the promotions people to give away at the games this weekend, but Theo and Larry thought it might be a bad PR move.

Geez, those guys are smart… always keeping me out of trouble! Anyway, our fans don't really care for Yankees caps up here...

and the bill for World Series rings just arrived...

so to... uh... defray some of those costs... THESE CAPS ARE AVAILABLE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER! Winner gets them all. An opportunity to purchase 47,000 ball caps to a 4th place team doesn't come around often so bid early and often. Not exactly sure what you would do with 47,000 caps, but I'm sure there are some constituents in the upstate New York area who can be 'buttered up' in 2008... if you know what I mean...

Caps must be picked up on Yawkee Way within 2 days after the auction ends please. As an added bonus, to give the auction some real value, I’m throwing in a free membership to Red Sox Nation for the winning bidder.

Don't miss this opportunity to make your Citizenship in the Nation official! You'll get a citizenship card with your name on it an a bunch of great benefits like access to a members-only page on redsox.com and other special redsox.com shop offers throughout the season.

Go Sox!

I don't know that I'd sell something that was not legally mine to begin with...

Steinbrenner has every hat tracked with GPS....

he knows everthing you do and he is not a forgiving guy.

I also saw authentic Barry Bonds Game used hats (Size 8) on E-Bay...apparently now he wears a size 7 1/8.

I suppose the next thing we'll see for sale on ebay is 47,000 peanuts to go inside the hats.

GEORGE: Fitted Hat Day! That's what you asked Steinbrenner for?

JERRY: You mean they're actually doing the fitted hats? Cool.

GEORGE: Guess who he put in charge of Fitted Hat Day? Me.

JERRY: Hey look at you.

GEORGE: Yeah, look at me. Now I GOTTA FIGURE OUT THE HAT SIZES OF 59,000 DIFFERENT PEOPLE!! WHAT IF A PINHEAD SHOWS UP. I GOTTA BE ON TOP OF THAT.

JERRY: No knock offs. I want the ones like the real players wear.

GEORGE: ??? KNOCK OFFS. I NOT GOING TO DO IT! AND YOU'RE GOING TO CALL STEINBRENNER BACK AND CANCEL THE WHOLE THING.

JERRY: Could you at least get a hat for me?

GEORGE: FINE? WHAT SIZE?

JERRY: Seven and five eighths

GEORGE: SEVEN AND FIVE EIGHTHS!!

What is this? After Yankeedom has been so kind and loving to the Red Sox Nation during those long years of exile, we get this kind of abuse in return? Truly the milk of human kindness runs through our pin-striped veins, only to be rewarded with such vitriol...

I'm not sure, but I thought I just read somewhere that the same quantity of yankee hats were recently stolen. Anybody know more about this?
