What rankles was the way the war was sold as an eminent threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Is "Weapons of Mass Destruction" given as a reason in the text of the legislation that Congress approved which gave President Bush the authority to invade Iraq? I believe it wasn't

No, it was not.

And as for this statement:

I cannot think of a time this nation went to war on such poor intelligence.

My response to that is "That HE knows of." In past wars, some of the country might not even have known where the countries we were at war with were.
