If they catch her the courts will simply pardon her after the bleeding heart choir starts to sing and she'll go on to become the new heroine of radical chic. She'll be awarded a full professorship with honors and a lifetime sinecure at a tax-supported university heading some kind of victimology department. She'll tour the country giving speeches at other universities for 50 grand a hit and will become the darling of Paris where she will travel often to denounce the injstices of life in America.
Am I cynical? Does it get dark at night?
