The GOP should stop talking and start blasting.

Real simple for the dims, if you have no ethics , no morals they can't be broken , they can't be held against them. On the other hand the Pubby's are past masters at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory (See Miami Dolphins.). America's very existence lies in the balance.

If the Republicans lose the White House due to political impotence, there are a few things that I can see coming out of this situation that may not be too bad. The first being the greater interest in 3rd parties; I say this because when you look at the big picutre, both of the 2 big parties have done very little in terms of serving the american interest. Open borders and losing jobs overseas are the first things that come to mind. Next, I really dont see how more democrats can get elected into office with their current rhetoric. As evident with the 04 election, the country is starting to wake up. The only way Dems will get more seats in congress is if there is a split in the Republican ranks over politicians not being conservative enough. I see it as the messy part of a transitional phase our country is going through. As long as we can restore some sort of americanism to the ACLU Supreme court, things couldnt be that bad with Comisar Hillary in office. Thank God for Checks and Balances.

Republicans contended the rules made the ethics process more fair and efficient.

IIRC the new rule would have made it impossible to keep a charge of ethics violations hanging on for an unlimited time. With 10 members (five Rs and five Ds) voting 5 to 5, the "accused" is in "limbo". The rule change was to limit the "trial" to 45 days, or drop the "charges".

To dig deeper, longer (closer to an election), a 6 to 4 vote would have been required to continue to investigate. The Dems want the old rule so they can make bogus charges, and cast the dark cloud of suspicion over their political enemies - indefinitely.

It will be interesting to see how they like status quo when they get the same treatment as Tom Delay. Are you listening Nancy?

That's right. I'll believe it when I see Hitlery being exposed big time. Until then, it's just talk.

Yes, I would agree, for sure. I think GWB is more focused on brute-forcing a legacy now, than he is on what America needs. But this is a general disease in Washington - they stopped working FOR the American people a long while back and focus manily on their country club politics to get re-elected. Professional politicians -- the bane of America.

Given the problems we face, I don't see how we could tolerate a Marxist in the White House. Foreign policy, our stand on the UN, our legal system, the fight against Islamo-fascism, all NEED STRONG SUPPORT AND LEADERSHIP...it would die under a Marxist, along with the economy. Deja vu, Billy Boy.

Regardless, I think we will see a rise in 3rd-party interest. It has to. The Repubs are irrelevant as THE CONSERVATIVE FORCE in America -- THEY ARE NOT. So there is a place opening up for sure...but it must be a party that is truly conservative. We already have the socialist left, and the moderate, weak middle ground covered...

The House is not the Senate. They will have no problem rubbing the Democrats' faces in it.

I knew when they appointed Frisk that we were in serious trouble.

For me, the moment that set the tone for all of the disappointments this year was when Scottish Law Specter retained his chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee. Once that happened, the Democrats knew it would be business as usual.

Like you, I support Dubya. A small show of righteous anger on his part would be most welcome at this juncture.

The Repubs ARE WEAK. If they don't fight NOW, they are finished --- and the Dems may just walk a Marxist into the White House in 2008...

I think it is more than may. I fear the response from many Republican voters is very alarming. They are ready to give her a win. How? By staying home on election day.

Seems that the Republican party doesn't have a perfect candidate to run against her. When I say perfect, I mean perfect. If we think the 1992-96 was a media fix, wait until 2008. We have already seen the loyality of the democrats. They may not have like Kerry, but they supported him enough to lose by ONE state.

The good part is, few thought that GWB was going to beat Gore, and he did. There's always HOPE. For now, that's about all we have.

Still, Frisk was in charge during this disaster. He simply stuck his tail between his legs and scooted.

I started to read the story, than had to stop.

Republicans were not forced to reverse ethics rules. This is not retaliation. Democrats wanted it as an issue without giving Delay a chance to clear his name. Delay wanted the rules change. Reps called their bluff, agreed to the rules change. Now Delay will be cleared and the Dems that have serious allegations of wrongdoing will be focused on.

And frankly I'd had it with those of you that come in to bash Republicans without any knowledge of what occured, taking the MSM at value. You are making fools of yourselves on this issue. The Reps are showing spine by reversing the rules and going after the real violators.

No, I sure won't be one of those that stays home. Regardless of what the Repubs come up with, there is NO WAY I WOULD HELP PUT A MARXIST in our White House. No way. And it still just shakes me to the core, to see how that arrogant, commie witch could even begin to think she is qualified to be Commander-In-Chief, let alone President. She, and her leftist mob, are a LIVING LIE, a huge, power-driven Marxist lie.

Half of this country is brain-dead.

Indeed.

This is far more important than cutting some wasteful spending, or voting on ways to defend the borders of our nation.

Send them all home and lock the doors. Let them get real jobs. They aren't doing any of us any good. My ongoing challenge to any takers, GOP or dim, show me one that is worth anything at all.

But it's not. What is transparent is the sins of the democrats -- like the Berglar. It's always... what's the big deal... it was a few national security documents on a plot to blow up LAX. Relax, it was nothing. $10,000 fine.

Nothing will come of this. This is all big talk. If anything is to come of it, somebody better file Monday, and get ready because it will be all "Politically Motivated! Revenge Investigation! Republican Dirty Tricks! Again!"
