It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.

The One Who Could Not Be Hidden

Read:
Mark 7:24-30

He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden. -Mark 7:24

Attar of Roses, a fragrant oil, is one of the most valuable products of Bulgaria and is heavily taxed for export. A tourist, unwilling to pay the duty, sought to evade customs by concealing two vials of the precious fluid in his suitcase. Apparently a little of the perfume had spilled in his suitcase. By the time he reached the train station, the aroma was emanating from the luggage, declaring the presence of the hidden treasure. The authorities immediately knew what the man had done and confiscated the costly souvenirs.

The Lord Jesus could not be hidden either. Crowds were constantly mobbing Him to hear His words of wisdom, to benefit from His deeds of mercy, and to derive help from His loving compassion.

After He ascended to His Father, Jesus' influence continued in the lives of His disciples. The populace "realized that they had been with Jesus" (Acts 4:13). Their deportment and their attitude marked them as His true followers.

Are you living completely for Jesus? Is the love of Christ so obvious in your life that those who know you realize that you are a follower of the One who "could not be hidden"? (Mark 7:24). If so, the world will readily see that you are on God's side. Your influence cannot be hidden. -Henry Bosch

I understand about graphics intense & your other place... I have S-L-O-W dial up modem & when I click on to either the Dose or Pookie's toons, I just go away for 20 minutes or so & do something.. and then about half are X's.

The Wednesday thread was on gardens.. I think I pinged you to it.. all four days had good lead articles & good exchanges.

Dennis Prager on his opening remarks mentioned the newly noticed - formerly thought extinct - bird. did you hear it? he is on 12-3 here - do you get him? hear him? like him? . Opposite Rush unfortunately. I like him. He is the voice of gentleness, supports christianity (although practicing Jew) and very smart IMHO.

MOVIE REVIEW - Millions

Gentle movie about a family that recently lost their mom & moved to new home & find lots of money... and what happens.. Set in England & it is a nice movie. For those who don't like lots of violence, skin, profanity, and special effects - this movie is for you. Rotten tomatoes gives it a 90% and because it is an independent, you wont find it in many theaters. I think it is only on 300 screens in US.
