Missouri Woman Arrested At Police Dog Training Seminar

Yankton police arrested a 17-year-old female Wednesday after she presented herself as an officer at a police dog training seminar.
"She attempted to participate in the K-9 seminar here in town," said Yankton's Assistant Police Chief Jerry Hisek. "She had advised she was an officer and had identification with her."
The department is hosting an SGS Working Dog Seminar this week, and was alerted to the possibility that the girl, who is from Missouri, might try to attend.
"We had information that she had attended another seminar in another state," said Hisek. "When she turned up, we made the arrest without incident."
The State Highway Patrol assisted in the arrest, which occurred shortly after 2 p.m., he said.
The juvenile claimed to be with a Las Vegas law enforcement agency and even had a partially trained K-9, according to Hisek.
"We have no idea why she would want to attend these events," he said.
The girl -- who has some warrants out for her arrest in Missouri connected with forgery/fraud charges -- was being taken to a juvenile detention center late Wednesday afternoon.

why would'nt there be criminals who want to be cops?
Not to mention the free (to her) dog training for your pooch.
Who knows maybe someday she will make a heck of a dog handler
she sure seems dedicated enough...what with the travel and elaborate ruse..that was kind of ingenious in a way..
Hope she straightens out her life and gets to be what she wants to be as long as she sees the light and becomes honest.
Maybe her dog was going to be an informant;)
Yeah, happens all the time here in Missouri. They start out by writing a few bad checks and the next thing you know they are masquerading as K9 officers...it's quite tragic. We had six or seven such girls in my high school. After extensive rehab they later got jobs as Sonic drive-in waitresses since one of the side effects of their malady was that they developed excellent roller skating abilities.
Maybe she is just trying to learn how to train her own dog by watching how the professionals do it.

You yell "attack," and he charges the criminal, all loud noise and snapping jaws - goes past, and bites the mailman.
Or possibly a fully trained K-4.5.
