Hypocrite - noun, one who pretends to be what he is not or to have principles or beliefs that he does not have.
The Democrats' efforts to block President Bush's qualified judicial nominees are not only hypocritical but are examples of partisan politicking at its worst.
Republicans in the Senate are working to ensure that all of President Bush's judicial nominees receive a fair and final up-or-down vote. Despite Senate history and tradition, Democrats are aggressively trying to prevent qualified judges from receiving what's been afforded every judicial nominee for over 200 years.
During the Clinton Administration, Democrats demanded up-or-down majority votes on judicial nominations, but, now that they are in the minority, they have become the party of obstructionism and double standards.
The Constitution guarantees an up or down vote, but the Democrats don't want to perform their duty. You can make a difference! Call Senator Dianne Feinstein at 202-224-3841 and Senator Barbara Boxer at 202-224-3553 and tell them to do their job - give these judges an up or down vote.
On July 25, 2003, President Bush made history by nominating Janice Rogers Brown to the federal bench. Brown is the first African American elected to the California Supreme Court and was reelected by California voters with 76% of the vote.
The daughter of Alabama sharecroppers who grew up in segregated schools in the midst of Jim Crow policies in the South, Brown is a single mother who worked her way through college and law school.
Despite her sterling personal and legal credentials, during the 108th Congress, Senate Democrats used a hypocritical double standard to block her nomination. Judge Brown is not alone. Senate Democrats obstructed an up-or-down vote on 9 other well-qualified judges. Some of these judges have been waiting for a vote for four years.
It seems Democrats have changed their tune on giving all judicial nominees a fair up-or-down vote. They now claim the filibuster is a sacred tool of the Senate. But in 1995, Democrats, including nine who still serve, voted to rid the Senate of this tool.
That's right, nine current Democratic Senators voted to get rid of the filibuster. Now that it suits their needs, they praise it. What's worse than this hypocrisy is these same Senators now lead the obstruction and threaten to shut down the Senate. Their claims of loyalty to, and reverence for, Senate traditions are just another sham designed to hide their hypocrisy.

See how these members used to demand fair up-or-down votes on judicial nominees, but now want to block nominees and hold the Senate hostage.
Call Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Barbara Boxer today and tell them you're tired of the hypocrisy and double standards. Call and tell them these judges deserve and up-or-down vote.
Sincerely,
Ken Mehlman

Dems are not the problem here.
I have been mailing back all their postage-paid
envelopes containingthe receipt with the word JUDGES
in red magic-marker.
I the last two months I have sent about twenty of them.
Money still talks.
I used to regularly receive these emails from Ken. But then I wrote this reply:
Hi Ken,Since then I have received no more emails. Isn't that the most amazing thing...As I have responded before to your solicitation for money:
1 - Get President Bush to wake up to the horrible problem this country has with criminal aliens. President Bush called those involved in the Minutemen Program "vigilantes" when they are anything but. Rather, they are doing what the Federal Government won't do. He really needs to wake up on this. Even Hillary Clinton realizes what a problem this is.
2 - Beg borrow or steal some stones for Senator Frist and get the "constitutional option" done. Activist judges are slowly destroying this country. I am coming to believe that the Demoncrats don't really worry that they have done poorly at the polls lately because they don't need to win elections and pass legislation when leftist judges can get the job done for them. This is a travesty.
Y'all take care of these two items and I'll consider a contribution. Until then, no bucks from me, sorry.

Dems are not the problem here. ... Well, they are, but lily livered, powdered wig-fox-trotting pansies masquerading as elected Republicans ARE. I'm not sure a pair of balls would help them do anything but seek to sell them during a campaign. It's time to toss the faint of heart on '06. Telling them doesn't work. Showing them does. Slam the wallet.................... The WALLet of silence will at the least, feather your own household. I'm not too sure if the pubs are looking for foreign donations to sail them through '06.
Let's face it, they've WASTED 6 MONTHS by pissing around. They'll not do ANYTHING of note leading into the '06 cycle. IMO, NOTHING will get done this cycle...but, they'll continue to feed in your pocket on a daily basis.
It seems Democrats have changed their tune on giving all judicial nominees a fair up-or-down vote.

Of course. Liberal leftists always rewrite the rules when it is to the benefit OF THEIR EMPOWERMENT. Bar none.
Hypocrisy to the hilt. It is time the GOP shoves this situation right up their addresses. Every candidate for judge deserves a vote and the filthy, partisan, un-American socialists of the Congress need to be put in their place -- whatever that takes. They do not care about America and its appropriate processes in government, it is ALL ABOUT THEIR POWER AND CONTROL, always has been and always will be. They need to be treated and handled accordingly like the filthy thugs that they are...
Calling Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Barbara Boxer will do no good. A fat waste of time. What is needed is some gonads on Frist and get the job done. Why they are waisting time on the brain dead Democrats is beyond me. Constitutional Option - the only answer.

Do you make a profession out of slamming the Republican Party? Or is it just an amateur hobby of yours?
CJ, I criticize bad behaviour wherever I see it.
