We quickly put a chain slide on all doors at our eye level.
He was always 'thinking' on how to get around things. He tested at 140 IQ at 4 yrs old. And that kid is still a handful at 28
When I think of what could have happened to him in those eternal 10 minutes of not finding him, it still makes my stomach lurch. Those poor babies
Unfortunately, it has been proven, at least to me, that they CAN do that (open a door and run outside a house, into all kinds of danger, all innocent and unknowing). It DOES happen, and th only thing I can say is that you should NEVER, EVER bet on what a toddler is able, or unable to do, as you will be proved wrong every time, often with tragic consequences...

Are the parents married?
I see mom is ENGAGED to the girl's father. What a stable, moral family!
Libs would have you believe that a stable (man & woman) family has nothing to do with successful child rearing.....BS!
Also, the girls took off earlier that day, and returned to a neighbor 1/2 hour later.
I'd like to know WHAT THE HECK mom was doing the first time the tots took off.
All I have to say is that regarding this tragic case something stinks in Denmark.
Something definitely stinks more than the pond.
And why the heck was the dad conducting interviews on every cable network within hours of hearing the news that his children were found dead. I don't mean to be judgmental, but wouldn't a parent be too sick and distraught at this stage to even think about doing tv?
I agree that the media is the way to go to get the word out during the search phase. But the father conducted the interviews last night (Nancy Grace, Greta and one on CNN) after he knew of the news that they were found dead. Something is just not right here.
That's exactly what I'm thinking too.
Also, the tots got loose earlier in the day, and a neighbor brought them back 1/2 hour after they left. Where was mom, when they went missing the first time?
Besides, why would 2 tiny tots, who love their mom, just up and run away not once, but twice in one day?
If I had to use the bathroom and those were my kids, I'd be sure they'd be with me in the bathroom. Sounds like there is very little supervision in that home, if you can call it a home.
As I said on another thread, something doesn't jive with this story.
Did his wife ever speak out? Since they children had previously left the house, seems they would have locked the doors.
