Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal Makes Controversial Remarks About 9/11

Actress and New York native Maggie Gyllenhaall makes some controversial remarks at Friday night's TriBeCa Film Festival.

Gyllenhaal was at the premiere of her movie "The Great New Wonderful" which opened at the festival Friday night. The film is set in the city about a year after September 11, 2001 and looks at New Yorkers' feelings after the attacks.

But while describing the movie, the Lower East Side native said the United States should share some of the blame for what happened that day.

"I think what's good about the movie is that it deals with 9/11 in such a subtle, open, open way that I think it allows it to be more complicated than just 'Oh, look at these poor New Yorkers and how hard it was for them,' because I think America has done reprehensible things and is responsible in some way and so I think the delicacy with which it's dealt with allows that to sort of creep in," said Gyllenhaal.

The TriBeCa Film Festival was started after the terror attacks to bring tourists and money back to downtown Manhattan.

This viewpoint is contemptable. However, I find it hard to blame her. She's a very young woman and, from what I've read in the past, she was raised by far left people who undoubtably indocrintated her to feel this way.

Who is this woman, and why should her opinion matter to me?

Apparently, the sea hag didn't know anyone who died a cruel death in one of those buildings. She's very lucky.

She should be challenged as to exactly what reprehensible things the US has done. Her upbringing is no excuse.

Her remarks (whoever she is?) should share blame for the next terrorist attack.

I enjoyed watching her getting slapped around in "Secretary", but apparently she's another puerile leftist whore.

You just have to get under all the makeup. Then the homeliness begins to emerge.

I never heard of her. Hope I never hear of her again.
