LAUDERDALE LAKES, FLORIDA-
A 9-year-old boy has told detectives his mother videotaped an assault on him by an adult male, who has been arrested.
Broward Sheriff's detectives are investigating allegations by a 9-year-old boy who said his mother videotaped him being raped, then sold the tape.
Investigators are looking into allegations that the boy was raped at least five times between July and October 2004, according to BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright.
She would not say when the detectives first heard about the alleged assaults.
Detectives arrested Kevin Jerome Bynes, 27, of Lauderdale Lakes, Tuesday on five counts of sexual battery on a child under 12.
Bynes, who goes by the name ''Coop,'' was being held late Thursday without bond in the Broward County Jail.
His arrest affidavit states that the boy's older sister told detectives that she saw Bynes enter her brother's bedroom and that she believed her brother was being assaulted.
Bynes has denied the charges.
The boy's 29-year-old mother is also denying the allegations.
UNDER ARREST
She has been in the Broward County Jail since Oct. 18 on charges stemming from an aggravated battery charge in an unrelated case. The children have been with relatives in Lauderdale Lakes since the mother's arrest.
It's unclear why the boy's allegations are coming to light now when the assaults allegedly happened last year.
Coleman-Wright said BSO received a formal complaint regarding the case, but would not discuss any other details.
A woman at the Lauderdale Lakes home identified herself as one of the boy's relatives.
''He is doing OK,'' she said. ``It's hard. It's been hard on everyone. It's just something we have to get through.''
The boy, who is in second grade, sometimes acts sullen and emotionally distant, the relative said. At other times, he plays happily in the yard.
BSO's victim services unit has offered the family a therapist for counseling.
PROBATION VIOLATION
Meanwhile, Bynes has violated his probation on false imprisonment charges out of Leon County, according to BSO.
BSO believes Bynes may have molested other children.

Makes you wonder what they would say over at DU...it wasn't an animal being hurt so it is probably okay. Crap like this makes me wish that "cruel and unusual punishment" weren't prohibited by the Constitution. I am one of those who says, in circumstances like this...an eye for an eye or in this circumstance a child's innocence has been ripped from him.
