Who are the two mysterious highranking U.N. officials fingered in one of the latest indictments of the oil-forfood scandal?
The indictment, issued last Thursday, doesn’t give the names of these two U.N. officials, designating them only as U.N. officials “#1” and “#2.” But we do know the grand jury thinks they took millions in bribes from the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, in exchange for trying to shape the oil-forfood relief program along lines that helped Saddam manipulate and corrupt it so as to evade U.N. sanctions.We also know the grand jury thinks one of these mystery U.N. officials has close family business ties to Canada and is acquainted with the South Korean lobbyist named in the indictment, Tongsun Park, alleged to have served as go-between for the bribes.

Strong is closley connected to Jean Chretien and Paul Martin.I personally believe Chretiens turnabout on Iraq was due to Strongs connection to the food for oil scandal.
Why does this incident bring to mind Sandy (sloppy) Berger?

Strong was the primary architect of Kyoto, and Canada is a signatory to it. Strong is closely connected with Koffi at the UN and is VERY tight with the Liberal Party in Canada, presently embroiled in the sponsorship scandal. If I were a conspiracy theorist....
UNITED NATIONS — A Canadian tycoon who is a special adviser to Secretary-General Annan yesterday acknowledged that since at least 1997 he has had business and other dealings with Tongsun Park, the Korean influence-peddler who was identified in a federal criminal complaint last week as an unregistered Iraqi agent targeting U.N. officials for bribery.
Maurice Strong was a special adviser to Mr. Annan in 1997, the year Mr. Park made an investment in a company the Canadian tycoon was associated with. Mr. Strong worked as special envoy for U.N. reform in an office located directly across the corridor from the secretary-general on the 38th floor of the U.N. building.

In his statement, Mr. Strong denied having had any connection with Iraq or the oil-for-food program during his work with the U.N. since 1970. Mr. Strong, who has maintained close relations with the secretary-general and has had business ties with Mr. Annan’s son, Kojo, does admit, however, to having had relations that fit neatly with the timeline and the circumstances described in the complaint against Mr. Park.

His ties to the Canadian prime minister, Paul Martin, go back to the time they were both employed by the nation’s Power Corporation. Mr. Martin is now embroiled in a national scandal in which his Liberal Party is accused of political wrongdoing.
In America, Mr. Strong has been a generous donor to both Democratic and Republican candidates. Asked why he contributed to both parties in the 1988 elections, he said, according to a quote in Saturday Night Magazine, “Because I wanted influence in the United States.”

I was thinking the same thing, I hope this puts the kabosh on this conspiratorial one-worlder.

You know, in all seriousness the big "bomb" for Adscam I am suspecting in that they will connect the Oil for Food Scandal directly to the Liberal Party of Canada. TotalFinaElf owned by Desmaris who owns Power Corp whos son is married to Chretiens daughter, who has Strong on the payroll and who gave Paul Martin Canada Steamship Lines.
It all connects.

It's related to that scandal. Really, the whole scandal is related. I am providing a link to an excellent David Frum article describing the nature of the Liberal Party of Canada as a "brokerage" party that thrives on patronage and corruption.
