Serbs, Jews Gypsies mark 60th anniversary of dismantling of Croatia's "Auschwitz"

BELGRADE, April 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Bosnian Serb President Dragan Cavic and about 3,000 people, mostly Serbs, gathered in Bosnia's northern village of Donja Gradina on Sunday to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the dismantlement of the Jasenovac camp, Croatia's most notorious death camp in World War II.

The Jasenovac camp, known as Croatia's Auschwitz and located about 100 km southeast of Croatia's capital Zagreb, was set up in 1941 by Croatia's pro-Nazi Ustasha regime. Donja Gradina used to be part of the Jasenovac camp complex.

"In this place genocide was committed, the most serious crime against humanity, by killing of hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, children and elderly only for being of another religion, nation or ideology," Cavic said at the ceremony which marked an attempted escape in 1945 by about 600 inmates, of whom only 90 survived, several days before the camp was dismantled.

"Blood cannot be removed by (another) blood," Cavic said, reminding people of the bloody Balkans wars in the 1990s that killed more than 200,000 people during clashes between people with different nations and religions.

"We in Bosnia, but also people in our neighborhood, are facing a historic exam to show whether we have found the strength to end the vicious circle in which today's victim becomes tomorrow's criminal, and today's hatred becomes tomorrow's revenge," the president said.

Boris Tadic, president of Serbia and Montenegro, also attended the ceremony.

Croatians and Serbs have held separate commemorations for the dismantlement of the Jasenovac camp since the Balkans wars.

Following Sunday's ceremony, Croatia will hold another ceremonynext Sunday in Jasenovac, reports from Zagreb said.

The Nazi-hunting Simon Wiesenthal Center estimates that about 600,000 people, including Serbs, Jews, Gypsies and Croatian resistance supporters against the fascist regime, were murdered inthe Jasenovac camp, while the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum puts the figure at up to 100,000. Very poorly articulated response on your part, and you still didn't answer my question: Do you support the Ustasa movement?

A little FYI that you may want to take into consideration considering the poor quality of your apparently confused logic flow, the Croats were threatened with sanctions and bombs if they refused to form that alliance with BiH Muslims. You do remember that don't you? The Croats capitulated due to a threat not because they were going through some philosophical introspection.

You don't even know your own people very well it appears, the Croats want to dissolve that alliance with the Muslims ASAP, it was never their intention to maintain it's solvency.

No. I'm not a fascist. I'm a libertarian.

I do know about my people, I just don't care about the alliance. You don't need to be in an alliance to still be friendly with people after all.

On the other hand, I think my point previously was clear. Supporting Serbia in any way is Anti-American since they are our enemy. You don't want to be anti-American do you?

Idiotic statements like this one only enforces the notion that you are in no way qualified to make a viable or rational argument. Seek help immediately.

"I do know about my people, I just don't care about the alliance."

No you don't, your people want out of the Alliance because they don't like the prospect of being subjected to Islamic style rule. The Croatians would break away immediately if it were not for the threat of American/NATO military action.

I know its not in Krajina because the Serbs got chased out with their tails between their legs out of Sisak, Petrinja, Glina, and Topusko.

And we know those proud, valiant warriors murdered all of the old people who could leave fast enough.

The Serbs are not the enemy of the United States, you poor little fool. That lie will not become true no matter how many times you repeat it.

It was the Partisani Communist Party members who mostly were Serbs.

Well, at least you've admitted that the allegation that the Chetniks were involved in the execution of the Ustashi criminals was a complete fabrication.

Of course, another poster showed how the Partisans were not mostly Serbs.

Gee, you haven't even risen to the accuracy of a stopped clock, you little dupat.

Let me tell you what happened to a whole lot of NAZIS WHO RAN CONCENTRATION CAMPS AS BAD OR WORSE THAN YOUR CROATIAN ONES in Germany!!

After the American Army caught up with their murderous hides... THEY KILLED THEM!! SOME THEY HUNG AFTER TRIALS AND SOME THEY JUST SHOT ON SIGHT!!

Your precious croatian nazis were no different... except your guys got just what they deserved from the Yugoslavians.... who FOUGHT FOR THE ALLIES... NOT AGAINST THEM... and those allies would be the PARTISANS AND THE CHETNIKS!!

I do not care a whit, if your civil war was brutal.... that is just too derned bad!! All of Yugoslavia suffered pretty much the same fate. OH, well... deal with it little tough guy.

Your sicko Croatians did NOT just kill your MAIN enemy the Serbs ...your buther-brother Croats killed JEWS and Gypsies too!! Why they even killed Croats who did not agree with the majority Croatian nazis... that killing their fellow humans in monsterous concentration camps was such a good thing.

Face your history and accept that your country was ALMOST as bad as nazi Germany!!

PRAY for forgiveness for your countries nazi past. Then, GET A LIFE, little guy.
