Correct me if I am wrong, but I think I read that Africa has vast undeveloped resources. Why aren't the African nations developing their resources? They should be the richest continent on the earth. What seems to be the problem?

Many libs (admittedly, those who are less-educated or educated in useless areas of study) will tell you that the European countries took all the resources during the colonial period. This is absurd, of course, but some of them believe it.

You raise an excellent question. I do not know the answer, but it has always been my theory that government is the biggest killer of mankind, bigger than heart disease, bigger than AIDS. I am no where near being an anarchist but governments kill by neglect, mismanagement, corruption, greed and lust for power. It is true about our own government. In the last 30 years this country has 40-50 million murders on its hands via abortion and now many want to move into euthanasia. We are approaching the level of Nazi Germany yet almost all Americans feel smug and superior to the rest of the world and other points in history. It just does not bear up to scrutiny. As a Southerner it is particular galling to read or hear Northerners crow about how evil the South was and how grand they are for having put down the South. I make NO excuses for the South but our sins of the past pale to the ones of the here and now. I can do nothing to correct the Souths wrongs of 150 years ago but there are much greater crimes right here and right now. One does not have to go to the heart of Africa to find a government that ruins lives.
