San Francisco is the classic "Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there." After a trip to SF, most folks are more than happy to return to their hometowns. Which means, using your own argument, that liberalism is a vacation from reality.

Yep, that's just the way I feel, I enjoy the restaurants and art galleries for a few days then come home to a suburb of that conservative bastion - Seattle:)
