I'm not a fan of criminal activity, I know that sounds a little tight*ss*d, but one related thing I find a bit fascinating at times is Port Royal, the wild pirate harbor town in the Caribbean which was wiped clean by a tidal wave. Archaeologists have been diving on the site for years, 'scool.
Yes, reminds me of the old Errol Flynn film, "Captain Blood" which was set in wicked olde Jamaica. Ditto for Jonny Depp's "Pirates of the Caribbean".

...of course, Depp fits the role a bit better, type casting. Depp's business partner from the Viper Room sued, and then vanished during the trial. Depp moved himself and his family to France, perhaps keeping in mind the 30 years it took to extradite Ira Einhorn to the US for his murder trial.
