KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- A city commissioner doesn't want conservative commentator Pat Buchanan to speak at Western Michigan University.

Mr. Buchanan, a former White House aide who ran for president three times, is scheduled to speak Thursday at the university on topics including immigration and America's "culture war." Commissioner David Juarez said Mr. Buchanan has a "track record of creating divisions" among races, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported.

Of course he would. In his mind Churchill has never said anything controversial.

I like Pat, he's wrong about some things but he's also right about a good many things as well. I won't vote for him again but I don't mind hearing what he has to say.

"is scheduled to speak Thursday at the university on topics including immigration ....Commissioner David Juarez ..."

I want to check this guy's immigration status. He sounds a little too paranoid. Is Mr. Juarez simply "doing the jobs Americans won't do"?

The Republican Party is very well aware of Pat's track record of doing this.

Western Michigan University spokesman Matt Kurz said a university is about the free exchange of ideas.

Unless you don't agree with them.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Commentator and former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan cut short an appearance after an opponent of his conservative views doused him with salad dressing.

"Stop the bigotry!" the demonstrator shouted as he hurled the liquid Thursday night during the program at Western Michigan University. The incident came just two days after another noted conservative, William Kristol, was struck by a pie during an appearance at a college in Indiana.

After he was hit, Buchanan cut short his question-and-answer session with the audience, saying, "Thank you all for coming, but I'm going to have to get my hair washed."

The demonstrator, identified by authorities as a 24-year-old student at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, was arrested and faces a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace. He was released on a $100 cash bond, pending his April 14 arraignment.

"He could have faced a felony assault charge, but Pat Buchanan decided to not press that charge," university spokesman Matt Kurz said.

Buchanan's visit had evoked controversy on campus because it fell on the birthday of the late Mexican-American labor leader Cesar Chavez. Buchanan favors tighter controls on immigration.

Kristol, editor of the influential conservative magazine The Weekly Standard and former chief of staff to Vice President Quayle, was splattered by a student during a speech Tuesday at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.

Members of the audience at the Quaker college jeered the student, then applauded as Kristol wiped the pie from his face and said, "Just let me finish this point." Kristol then completed his speech and took questions from the audience.

The student, who was not immediately identified, was suspended and could face expulsion following a disciplinary review, Earlham Provost Len Clark said Wednesday.

Clark also issued a written apology complimenting Kristol for his "graciousness."

"I'm willing to bet this guy would welcome Ward Churchill."

My first thought as well-we need to bludgeon these fascists with their hypocrisy at every opportunity. It's gone unchallenged so long they assume they get a 'pass' on their blatant intellectual dishonesty.

Remember when these liberals speak about Diversity its not about ideas - therefore everything that doesnt matter. Diversity is the new corporate word for legallized racism be very worried if you are required to be indoctrinated. Many if not all of the statistics that they will try to sell you on that Diversity increases profits is bogus and are totally madeup, from organizations with serious conflifct of interest, or disguised as Diversity when they are really just "marketing" strategies.

Cesar Chavez favored tighter controls on immigration also and had the UFW union turn in illegals on a regular basis. He was trying to keep the farm workers wages up by keeping out cheaper labor. The morons on the left don't even know what their "heroes" stood for.

Commissioner David Juarez said Mr. Buchanan has a "track record of creating divisions" among races, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported.

Reform Party presidential candidate Patrick Buchanan on Friday named as his vice presidential running mate a largely unknown black woman who, like Buchanan, has never held elective office.Foster dismissed the liberal notion that Buchanan could be using her to deflect charges that his conservative positions amount to racism. "If I thought I were being used I could have easily said 'no' when he asked me," she said. "I was honored to be asked, and I am looking forward to doing what's right for all of the American people, and that's Pat Buchanan." 08-12-2000.

Sorry Sr. Juarez, the distinction is citizen v. illegal alien.
