And we heard the same thing when the GOP tried to stop Elian from going back to his Daddy, Fidel Castro. Gee let's see, two Presidential election wins and control of both the House and Senate. Yep, the GOP was really hurt on that one.

This will only hurt the GOP if they don't follow up with solving problems that created it. If it becomes a "moot" issue to the GOP it will hurt when the Dems use it in 2008 against them..

Also on the pro-killing side are conservatives still pissed off about the Civil Rights Act of 1964 who are desperately hoping to be elected "most consistent constitutionalist" by their local Federalist Society chapters.
