This happens in most "Catholic" colleges.

There are precious few truly Catholic colleges.

I went through 8 years of modern Jesuit education. Besides myself and one other person I know of, practically all of my classmates became secular humanists or at best, cafeteria Catholics. The Jesuits of today are, for the most part, pale reflections of what they used to be. In some cases, they are outright evil. No doubt, their predecessors are not smiling in Heaven:
