MOSCOW, March 15 (RIA Novosti) - Following the government session of the Union of Russia and Belorussia, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov reported that the introduction of common currency from January 1, 2006 remains under consideration. "Moreover, the positions of the sides have become more distinct," he added. "With the matter to be discussed at a higher level, a general plan has been already approved and everything is being done to translate it into life," said Fradkov.
"We have agreed upon a plan of action and within the next 10-15 days we shall see it in an accomplished form," confirmed Belorussian Prime Minister Sergey Sidorsky.
Meanwhile, Russia and Belorussia are not at one on the establishment of a uniform emission center. "The Banks of Russia and Belorussia have got some concerted solutions and this matter remains at the government and central bank levels," continued Sidorsky. Mikhail Fradkov added that all ministers concerned were being involved in this effort.
The Russian prime minister also reported that Russia and Belorussia were finishing all technicalities connected with the system of collecting taxes as regards the country of designation.
He expressed confidence that troubles in this system were caused by technical imperfections and the states would soon enjoy the results of this tax collecting system-higher trade turnover. He cited today's trade turnover as a record figure for the past time--$17.5 billion.
The Russian prime minister declared that Russia and Belorussia were consistent in resolving outstanding questions with mutual respect and understanding.
The sides are seeking the establishment of a single economic and social environment. "We are taking care to be specific in our discussions," said Fradkov.

It is nothing but a ploy allowing Putin to extend his power beyond the term limits imposed on him as a President of Russia.
You know the rules man. Post a picture of Putin, and Prime Minister Sergey Sidorsky.
I suppose Kyiv's Orange Revolution put a monkey wrench in this. Lukashchenko has been begging Yeltsin and Putin for reunification forever, and for Belarussians even a merger with North Korea would be an improvement.
"Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan had agreed 10 years ago to a common economic market by 2006."
Yes, but you are talking about... CIS or something like this. There is also Russian-Belorussian union.
