The law is an ass and should be changed to require clear and convincing proof of intent when there are contesting parties, but Gov Bush and the President and the COngress cannot move into the realm of the lawless and upset the entire federal system to correct this or any other injustice. And I do think there was an incorrect judgement by the trial court. The law is often imperfect but we cannot abandon it--only change it when it is clearly wrong.

And why not?

Our very Founding Fathers disobyed 'law'.

They were 'traitors'.

They were 'seditionous'.

They opposed British law, for a higher good.

We're THEY wrong?

People went to jail in the 1960s in the South for laws on the books in various states. They are heroes today, just as our Founding Fathers.

Grow a spine.
