Outrageous! Since when are Americans not allowed to free assembly? It's past time for the W administration to start enforciing the immigration laws of this country and secure the ports and borders, fine employers who hire illegals and deport illegals. Ike did it, so can Bush! Vicente Fox needs to start solving Mexico's problems instead of dumping them off on our back porch. And it's also time for Mexico to take off the American "training wheels" and start peddling through life on her on! Semper Fi, Kelly

Stupid move Mr President. Get a new researcher on this - these people are not vigillantes, they are only their to "spot" illegal immigrants for the authorities.

BUSH STAFFER PING. This is his weakest point. He promised to up border security - the citizens wouldn't be down there if the Feds were taking care of business.

If AQ slips through Mexico and launches a successful attack, there will be hell to pay.

You got that right. If the cops are not around to protect my house, I and Ruger will do it.

"I am for enforcing the law in a rational way." The Minuteman Project, The Washington Times notes, was born out of a long-held perception among many U.S. Residents that more Border Patrol agents are needed to handle the flow of illegal immigrants.

No, Mr. President. There is nothing rational about an approach that utterly fails, and had been failing now for decades.

The Minuteman Project was born from the perception that our government has utterly failed in one of the primary functions of any State: to protect our borders.

Misusing the word "Vigilante" by applying it to peaceful observation, simply corrupts logic and reinforces the impression that you just don't get it.

"I am against vigilantes in the united States of America," Bush said at a joint press conference.

Vigilantes have often been organized in our past to fill a needed void. When “legitimate” law enforcement personnel could not or would not do the job, common citizens had to step in.

Bush Decries "Vigilantes,"

Yeh! How dare those vigilantes try to keep illegal immigrants out!!!! Illegals are good for the country, the economy, dirty bathrooms. Speaking of which, where's my illegal? My bathroom could use a good cleaning.
[end sarcasm]

Well, GW, vigilantes were the ones who brought law to the frontier in the 1800s. They have to do it again, because YOU WON'T.!!!!

Just think of them as "undocumented Border Patrol officers".

He's right:

Main Entry: vig·i·lan·te
Pronunciation: "vi-j&-'lan-tE
Function: noun
Etymology: Spanish, watchman, guard, from vigilante vigilant, from Latin vigilant-, vigilans
: a member of a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily (as when the processes of law appear inadequate); broadly : a self-appointed doer of justice

That definition seems appropriate. They are vigilantes.

Bush, in fact the whole clan are done - this is it - I am sick and tired of them. I will work for anyone to get in office, yes even Hitlery, over these F'n back stabbing elitist RINOs. At least with Hitlery you know your enemy and we may get a congress that will unite to grow some balls.

Bush is way out in left (literally) field on this issue. I can't recall him ever saying anything quite so direct about the people from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, etc. who are routinely breaking our immigration laws with the full knowledge and complicity of the Mexican government and Bush's "buddy" Vicente Fox. Furthermore, the Mexican government employs the Mexican military to enforce its own immigration laws on the Mexico-Guatemala border; isn't that a bit of irony?

Bush is an hypocrite.

His neighbors suffer repeated trespasses, yet he denies them.

The law says no trespassing, but he does not enforce the law.

Take his ranch, put it on the border - directly alongside the neighbors who are suffering, and Bush would have his security stop tresspassers onto his land and call that "rational" ... while accusing his neighbors who do the exact same thing, as being "irrantional" and "vigilantes."

NOTE: A vigilante is a person who exacts punishment. Bush's description of his neighbors, does not apply.

"I am against vigilantes in the united States of America," Bush said at a joint press conference.

Vigilantes CREATED the united States of America. And may yet save it.

"I am for enforcing the law in a rational way

Then DO IT, El Presidente!!

interesting.... i was wondering how W would LABEL these Patriots.. and now i know. and he was NOT being complementry.

W was in the oil business in Midland and Odesa Tx during one the biggest Tax and Big Gvt revolts this country has ever seen. and it happened right there. there were Patriot men buying local TV time to go on air and give their views of what they saw as a tax-crazed and rule/regulation passing Fed Gvt gone mad.
they had some excellent points and had many local LE on their side in this...
but then the feds sicced the IRS on the Patriots with orders to make examples out of them. with the help of Judges - they did just that. many went to prison...

W was there during this period.... and i have wondered how this effected his politics... and just who's side he chose.... well, now i know.

surprise surprise.... they're all the same. he sounds no better ... no more Constitutionally Educated than Janet Reno.
