No. It hurt us substantially. As a result of the war not being fought north of Baghdad, the nuts up there were never defeated...and so instead of fighting them when we push into them, and eradicating the nutballs early on, we ended up with hidden weapon stocks and some actually trained fighters taking pot-shots at us.

It also meant that we had to take the troops allocated for the Northern half all the way around out of the Mediterranean to try to unload in an already over-crowded Kuwaiti port, and an obstructed Iraqi port weeks late.

No, this was not something we were faking.
