Judge delays removal of feeding tube after House panel issues subpoenas
An eleventh-hour end-run around the court-ordered removal of Terri Schiavo's life-sustaining feeding tube by members of House and Senate panels has succeeded in sustaining her life beyond today's scheduled 1 p.m. EST deadline.
Early this morning, the House Government Reform Committee decided to launch an investigation into the case which has ricocheted through the Florida court system for 10 years.
The committee issued subpoenas which order doctors and the administrator at the hospice facility in Pinellas Park, Fla., where the severely brain-damaged woman resides not to remove her feeding tube and keep her alive until the investigation is complete.
At the same time, the Senate Health Committee requested Terri Schiavo and her husband, Michael, appear at an official committee hearing on March 28.
As a result, minutes before the 1 p.m. deadline passed Pinellas Circuit Court Judge David Demers ordered the feeding tube remain in place while presiding Judge George Greer addresses the matter of the congressional subpoenas in a court hearing.

Fox News reports the subpoenas were issued to Terri Schiavo, her husband, Michael, two of her attending physicians, and the hospice administrator.
The subpoenas direct the recipients to appear at the hospice facility to give testimony to House committee members on March 25 at 10 a.m. EST.
"No things including those things reflecting data, information, or records called for by this request shall be destroyed, modified, transferred, disconnected, discontinued, or otherwise made inaccessible to the Committee," the subpoenas read, according to Fox, which means the feeding tube must stay in place for another week.
Ignoring the subpoenas would amount to being in contempt of Congress and would incur penalties of fines and or imprisonment.
Michael Schiavo had abandoned Terri ten years ago as a wife, when he started to cohabit with the new woman that he had found, and even fathered two of her children. At best Michael is an adulterer, who has made Terri a step mother to his illegitmite children, which is a total disgrace while calling himself Terri's husband. Michael should have been forced to give up guardianship of his wife, Terri, years ago. He has squandered the funds for her rehabilitation on fees to get her murdered legally. The courts in Flordia have been a disgrace to the entire USA, this Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave!
Hasn't Greer ordered the tube taken out after this? Or is this reversing his reversed order?
this doesn't square with other reports coming out of there saying that the tube is out at this moment.

I am deeply grieved over this. Yes later reports say the tube has been removed.
I don't know if Ms. Chiavo's condition is vegetative or if it's recoverable. I would hope that, in a just and ideal World, we would long ago have dispensed with the complexities of the Legal System and engaged in the common sense action of terminating her husband's guardianship and appointing her Parents to that role. Following the successful conclusion of the transfer of the Guardianship her husband should have then been taken out, given 100 lashes and shunned for the remainder of his natural life for his stubborn, ignorant, arrogant and immoral conduct.
Instead, we and this unfortunate woman have been subjected to the slow death by the law, a process actually worse than death. Pathetic.

Thou preparest a table before Terri in the presence of her enemies--- That's Hope !!!
Thou annointest her head with oil --- That's Consecration !!!
Her cup runneth over --- That's Abundance !!!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow Terri all the days of her life --- That's Blessing !!!
And she will dwell in the house of the Lord --- That's Security!!!
Forever --- That's Eternity !!!
Congressional Subpoena --- That's Deliverance !!!
Face it ---- The Lord is crazy about Terri !!!
Otherwise --- Why else would He continuously deliver her from
the evil hands of her attempted murderers ???
