LIFE FOR SCHOOLBOY WHO RAPED TEACHER

A 12-year-old boy who raped his teacher was today detained for life.

The schoolboy, who is one of Britain's youngest convicted rapists, attacked the woman as she sat next to him during a one-to-one teaching session.

Afterwards, he stole her car and drove it for 30 miles before dumping it.

The youngster, who is just 5ft 3in tall and has severe learning difficulties, admitted at an earlier hearing raping the teacher and stealing her car.

Today at Teesside Crown Court, Mr Justice Grigson ordered the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, be detained for life.

He will have to serve at least 21 months detention before being considered for parole.

The court was told the schoolboy, who lived in Darlington, received full-time one-to-one sessions with the teacher at a special needs centre in County Durham.

He waited until they were alone in the building before leaping from a desk where he was working and attacking the teacher as she sat on a sofa.

The woman, just 5ft 1in tall, tried in vain to calm the boy down but he raped her.

After the attack the teacher, who is in her 30s, locked herself in a toilet and called police on her mobile.

The boy, meanwhile, grabbed the keys to her £21,000 car and drove at least 30 miles to Gateshead before abandoning it. He was finally caught by police in the town.

Sort of the flipside of all those 'Hot teacher has sex with student' stories we've been having here in the States.

Interesting that they would feel it necessary to mention the value of the car.

If I read this right, his "life" sentence is 21 months?

Don't suppose it was an SUV, or they would have blamed the attack on the car.

So I guess, they were thinking they could blame the attack on the car's price tag. Root cause, yanno....

I can't speak for the US liberals, because I despise them and couln;t think like them if I tried, but I'm not going to break down in tears just over another common, POS predator getting life behind bars.

Being he's from the UK, I bet the ACLU, and the US Supreme court are deeply saddenned they can't intervene.

Being from the UK, he doesn't need the ACLU or the Supreme Court.

He'll be out by his 21st birthday.

The wonders of the Western justice systems.

Well, he'll still be serving out his life, but just outside of prison. Or something like that.

Guess naming him would hurt his chance of getting into college or something.
