It doesn't help that here in Michigan, the home of the UAW and a historical industrial union past that irresponsible politicians and public educators continue to push the idea that manual labor represented by industrial unions will have a resurgence. The public schools don't educate the children to get them ready for the real world of the future; a lot of parents are brainwashed into thinking that the education aristocracy is always right. We have a pack of democraps, including the canadian governor, in power aided by a bunch of rinos who don't have the guts to truly face current reality. Out schools continue to teach "cake and ice cream" classes, promote (ad)diversity awareness, the gay life style, abortion rights, and completely avoid a strong foundation in the basics--the damnable 3 Rs. The auto and other companies are glad to hire Indian engineers since our native born kids major in non-engineering fields.

The president's photo was automatically in government offices and school rooms...
When are we going to stop letting then get away with the garbage...
Secure parking is at a premium in Detroit and the lot at the Reserve Center looks small. It seems silly, the UAW lot is mostly empty on weekends anyway. Maybe the parking lot security guy wants a bribe.
I hate to tell you this, but the only president's pictures you'll ever find in a UAW building will be that of FDR and whichever democrap is currently in the president's chair. Which means you'll only find FDR there at the present time. The UAW only believe in the one true god and that is FDR.

Hey, Thanks! Good morning!
Unionist rely upon others and the government to provide for them and their families!
Unions are the downfall of US Manufacturing!
We are fast becoming a nation of Comsumer Non-Producers!
There were no civilian cars built during World War II. You won't find a 1944 Chevy or Ford car. Every factory was engaged in the war effort then. Even Singer sewing machine company made Model 1911 Colt semi-automatic pistols. The GM Flint plant made tanks. Our car factories used to be an integral part of the war effort.
This reminds me of two incidents while I was voting on election day. First of all, while I was standing in line to vote, a woman in an SEIU (the most communist union) jacket came in, walked up to the table and started checking off names on a clipboard she was carrying. I wanted to scream and run over and tackle her, but then I thought, hey that's the job of the Republican poll challenger. I look over at the Republican poll challenger and she's chatting and having a gay old time with the Democratic poll challenger. She wasn't doing a darn thing! Then when I was leaving, a mini-van with Ontario plates and Kerry-Edwards stickers all over the place pulled up and started unloading like six people to go into the precinct and vote. I felt like puking. As it turns out, President Bush lost my precinct by only 6 votes. That's incredible in the liberal city I am living in.
I was born and raised in Grand Blanc so it's actually the GM Grand Blanc plant and to this day everyone calls it the "tank plant". I don't even think the kids in Grand Blanc know it is a GM factory!!!
Ah, our resident moral relativist.
Sorry for the mistake on the tank plant. My father-in-law worked at the tank plant when they built the tanks.
There are a lot of reasons this country has lost millons of good paying industrial jobs. The UAW is one of them.
Honest mistake - most people don't even know small towns around Flint exist and people from the small towns don't want anyone to think they live in Flint. If people ask us where we are from we always say " a small town about 60 miles north of Detroit"
My Dad lied about his age and started working "the hole" downtown Flint off Court St. when he was 16. Then went into Navy for WWII. He came back to Flint but never worked the line again always worked management after the war.
You are right on!
While this is true,it is the Unions property and they can do what they want.Doesn't mean we have to buy their vehicles though.
At the local GM plant here, they have signs posted that say,"No foreign vehicles allowed".As a teenager,we used to park at the union hall to hunt the nearby fields.Never noticed the signs until a union worker came out and stopped us one day.(We were driving Isuzu 4x4's and Nissans)We were teenagers and this was all we could afford, plus the American made trucks at that time were total crap.He was polite and just told us that they didn't allow foreign vehicles there and pointed to the sign. So,we left and started parking somewhere else.No big deal.
Yes, here am I. In my residence.
I lived just off of the corner of Fenton and Cook Rd. Was three houses down from the Grand Blanc school district line. Went to Lake Fenton. I live in TN now. Small world.
