Castro: Cuba is invulnerable from attacks by US
Itar-Tass ^ | 03/09/05 | Itar-Tass

HAVANA, March 9 (Itar-Tass) - Cuba is invulnerable from the military point of view and is able to withstand a U.S. aggression, Cuban Leader Fidel Castro stated here on Tuesday, addressing a festive meeting, devoted to the International Women’s Day. “Cuba cannot be intimidated” by the new threats, which some officials of the U.S. administration had recently voiced. He assured the meeting in the course of his almost 6-hour speech that the aggressor would sustain tremendous losses if he dared attack Cuba. They will be comparable only to the losses the United States had sustained during “its aggression against Vietnam”, Castro stressed.

He spoke very highly about the combat readiness of the Cuban army, noting that the country’s military command had achieved notable successes in its preparations to rebuff a possible foreign attack. An aggressor “will never be able to occupy the country’s capital,” he stressed.

What a goofy old fart this garrulous Castro has shown himself again to be. Why does the Left still admire this gas bag? It must because he is so upfront with his anti-Americanism.

Castro is full of it.

He knows the U.S. will never invade Cuba. He also knows that if it did his army would run like hell and the populace would cheer the American troops ecstatically.

BTW, Castro lost a dear friend today...

Poor Castro. No one is paying attention to him. He would like nothing better than to have Bush threaten Cuba--it would make Cuba and Castro seem important, like the Middle East!--but Bush wouldn't dirty his fingers.

A 6 hour speech? OMG, I really feel pity for the poor fools that have to sit through that. I'd rather sit through 6 hours of Robert Tilton.

Cuba is invulnerable from the military point of view . . .

A common mistake, with ample precedent for its remedy.

Actually cuba is an island and all we would have to do is surround it and cut it off from the rest of the world, then proceed to bombard the hell out of it with cruise missles and air assults.

At the first hint of an American invasion, the mighty Cuban army would quickly mobilize their fleet of 1953 Chevy's, 54 DeSoto's, and late model Packards and Studebakers and head for the beaches to fend off Los Americanos.

The Cuban Airforce's fleet of Cessna 172's would fly circles around our stealth fighters and bombers leaving us helpless.

Should I go on about how their donkey carts and high speed row boats would bring us to our knees?

InFidelity Castrate is the most upstanding? Comrade in the John Kerry, Clinton, Ortega, Sandinista, Shining Path, Stalinist, VC, V.C., Viet Cong, FARC, F.A.R.C, Marxist, Manning Marable, Noam Chomsky, Ron Dellums, idiot Liberation 'theology'-inspired "People's Underground Democratic" party, otherwise known as....... "PUD"

Ignoring Castro must rub in the fact that he is a complete and total idiot. Thinking about it, it's not a bad idea. It reminds me of Doc Holliday 's wry comment from the movie Tombstone ...

"Oh, Johnny I apologize. I forgot you were there. You may go now."

(HA HA HA!)

Oh well, so much for the wistful and pretentious Stalinist "wanna be" ... WAAH !

Where are his Left Wing Democratic friends when he needs them most? Oh yeah, one of his most ardent supporters had a Big Problem with this one:

http://www.archives.gov/research_room/obtain_copies/standard_form_180.pdf

Ooops.

Looks like "they" will have to find another Manchurian Candidate, seeing that the first one can't officially send them any more goodies. ("It's the Term Limits thing, stupid")

This tin horn dictator is deluded to think this piece of real estate floating off Key West is worth our intervention.

I think the last thing we need now is to take this welfare case off his hands and adopt an island full of hungry poor people.
I'm much more concerned with the situation in the "other" communist country.

Of course, if he moves toward Gitmo or if the price of sugar goes through the roof......

Limbaugh had a recent caller, Wednesday, or maybe Tuesday. (He's on this idiotic "audio watermarking" kick, so
I have to turn it off. His sponsors'/affiliates' problem is me, and people like me, remembering to turn them
on again...)

Anyway, a CO caller said it was "the US policies that drove Castro to be the dictator that he is..."

Naturally, she claimed to be conservative and a Dubya supporter.

Of course the Left has always said that it's the US's fault that dictators behave like dictators. They said it about the Soviet Union too. Stalin murdered all those people because the west intervened in the Russian Civil War after the Bolsheviks came to power. Ho was a gentle nationalists who was driven into communism by the US's policies. Pol Pot was driven to genocide by US bombing of North Vietnamese supply lines in Cambodia. Castro was no worse than Batista, blah, blah, blah. In fact, most of these men were dedicated communists from their university days, and it was they who wished to impose their deluded vision on their fellow countrymen without regard for the costs in blood or treasure. They didn't need the US's policies to influence them. Most of these dictators should be in a nut house. Castro clearly suffers from advanced logorrhea and monomania about communism. Yet the Left in the US shares too much of his delusions to ever be disabused by the experiences of the people there. The best way to understand these countries is to look what the people do when they can vote with their feet. It takes a Leftwing intellectual to argue that the people are too stupid to know what's good for them and that Castro does.

We have the power to remove Castro if it was all about military might.
The issue isn't military toughness. We have seen almost all communist countries starve themselves to revolution and we figure at some time that's got to happen in Cuba.

Castro is a punk on his best day.

I'll say they're festive. What are they drinking? The people of Cuba know he's a lying jerk. He deserves a few daisy cutters on the presidential palace just to keep him honest.

I think you're referencing Key West. Don't know if we have a millitary presence there, but we should certianly try for a toe-hold on the Southeastern end of Cuba. ;-)

There used to be NAS Key West (and maybe still... don't know), Holmstead AFB a little south of Miami, Keesler and Eglin AFB on the north Gulf Coast.

I think we could bring sufficient firepower to bear on Castro's shizhole without breaking a sweat.
