You folks have really gone past the limit. I can take a story about a dead guy lying on a futon for ten years, but a jar of kim chee in the closet passing gas, that does it. The mental images assault the senses.

Coincidence?? I THINK NOT!!
To: My Favorite Headache
I don't see how that's possible. A decomposing body makes such an odor - how could these people not know?

The maggots weren't a clue?
Oh, the worms crawl in;
The worms, they crawl out;
As the worms eat you thin,
The worms crawl all about.

How completely ridiculous- how could you not know if he doesn't get up or eat or anything else for 10 years?
Well, he was a night person, yeah, that's it, he slept all day and while they were awake during the day the kids thought he was asleep, that's right and the fact he never ate any of the food they put out for him only meant he was probably sending out for Sezuan, that's it, yeah and....

I remembered reading this story in the National Review a long time ago. Then I located
this version in Yahoo's cache (nothing on Google, by the way).
Bathroom ReaderWHEN YOU GOTTA GO...
In October 1971, Sir Peregrine Henniker-Heaton
a member of the British Intelligence Service,
told his wife he was going out for a walk...and
then vanished without a trace. Scotland Yard
searched for him for three years, and could find
no clues to his whereabouts. Then finally found
his body--in an unused room of his own home,
where it had been all the time
